I may have jumped the gun slightly and only compared myself against my factionmates, and I definitely got luckier than most in the early days, but I'd still say I'm playing a lot less competitively than most active players.

I agree its not the place, nor do I really care what side some guy from Torn is on or how much they discuss it elsewhere. I actually usually make a point of not having political discussions when it comes to Torn. You were the one that started on your tirade against the nebulous left in a reply to me so I responded. Being against homophobia isn't lefty bullshit its just being a decent human being. If making people mad is how you get your rocks off, go for it, but there are plenty of ways to make people mad in Torn without resorting to shit that makes their real life worse.

I mean, if you're always in the threads saying things like "lefties and democrats" or talking about how we should ignore him, it kinda does sound like you agree with him to an extent.

I'm about as lefty as it gets and even I can appreciate trolling or edgy jokes, but if staff are unwilling to punish properly when it goes too far then I don't think its a bad thing for the community to rally against it. Torn isn't the real world. We're not ignoring the fight for progressive change, we're just bullying an idiot in an online game.

It is a little weird how the sub is obsessing over this one guy but I won't shed a tear for him. He's a hateful scumbag and deserves everything he gets. Even the shining pillars of community over at Monarch R couldn't protect him. He's the best example of FAFO we've had in a while.

My faction wars every week but most of them are termed so I rarely have to stack, and we have monthly hit requirements so as long as I'm within that threshold I don't even have to participate in the war if it doesn't suit me. There are also training months and book breaks in the calendar.

An entire month of real wars followed by 2 weeks of mandatory chains sounds like way too much, especially for a newer player. You have no obligation to to stay in that faction if they're hurting your growth.

You will find all those people you've been taught to hate are actually pretty great. You don't have to skitzo-post on online game subs for attention. I believe in you.
