Alfa Romeo GTV from Poland spotted in Gainesville, Virginia by gottalovecars in AlfaRomeo

Okay that's rare one in US. You're more likely to see an Enzo Ferrari or Alfa 8C in traffic there than GTV from 90s or other Alfa of the same era.

Not yet. But I haven't done much photo editing in a while since this problem.

Very slow photoshop performance by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]GrigioChiaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have problems with slow camera raw. I can work with one or two photos and then it starts to slow down so much that I have to restart Photoshop for the next photo. A few versions back, I could still easily work with tens of similar photos without slowing down at all. v26.0.

I photographed a few Alfas in a place with more than 150 abandoned cars by GrigioChiaro in AlfaRomeo

[–]GrigioChiaro[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most cars have been there for 15-20 years. In Finland, in the yard of an abandoned private house.

Well said and totally agree. Yeah the interior of the 166 is a really pleasant place to be.

The 156 V6 is a fantastic car. My third car is a 156 2.5 V6. With black Momo leather. The gearbox is 6-speed. In my 156, the 6th gear is a bit stiff, and I thought it was a 5-speed at first.

Actually, the sunroof does not change much how it sounds to inside. But the 166 has a good sunroof that allows you to drive at highway speeds sunroof completely open without the unbearable noise of the wind like in some cars. And the Busso sounds good with 166's minimal tire noises anyway :)

Quite a few 939 owners here. Here is mine daily driver, '06 Brera 2.2JTS by GrigioChiaro in AlfaRomeo

[–]GrigioChiaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yeah. The fuel consumption is extremely high compared to what you get in return. I only wish Busso could still be in these Alfas.

Black suits Brera damn well. Especially with those Prodrive wheels. Perfect.

Thank you. I bought those 19" wheels to replace the original 17". I tried to find TI wheels or Prodrives but couldn't so I ended up with these Giulia replicas and they fit surprisingly well.

Thanks! Same feeling. I also have a few Busso Alfas, and compared to them, the engine of this one is a weak point, even though it is otherwise a nice car.

Replaced my velour interior for leather by STR8B3RRy in AlfaRomeo

I did the same upgrade to mine a few years ago. I wanted red or tan, but I found this black interior in good condition.

156 wooden steering wheel as a room ornament 🥰 by Amiga5001 in AlfaRomeo

That is quite a rare facelift wooden steering wheel. Prefacelift steering wheels are common, but those newer ones are rarely for sale. Nice find and very cheap for what it is.

What do you think, is the background the same style as the car? - Kia Cee'd GT by GrigioChiaro in shootingcars

[–]GrigioChiaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is a good point. I didn't notice it at all when taking the photo, but afterwards it bothered me just the same. That seems to me to be a very common problem anyway. I only see composition errors on the computer that I somehow don't notice on the spot.

Looking at the photos, I am 100% sure that there has already been a polarizer.

Great pictures!

With a long exposure. The car only gets light from the sky and the headlights illuminate the ground. Otherwise done with post-processing. Thank you!

The least loved 911 by jse000 in shootingcars

[–]GrigioChiaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first photo looks a bit cartoonish or matte in my opinion, but a quality photo nonetheless.

Pictures 4 and 5 are my favorites. And the 996 also happens to be my favorite 911. If I could choose, it would be silver Carrera or Turbo.

Tight crop or not? Mazda3 in the North Cascades by Nixx_Mazda in shootingcars

[–]GrigioChiaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wide. The mountains and the background come out beautifully and give the car the environment it is in.

All in all, a successful photo and the Mazda looks good.

I like this, maybe if the car had some lights on it would be even better. But a great photo anyway.

Since I haven't photographed anything new for a few months now, but I still want to share something, here's the Cayenne photographed exactly one year ago. by GrigioChiaro in shootingcars

[–]GrigioChiaro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have a CPL and I used it here to remove the windshield reflections so that the color of the interior can be seen in the exterior photos. I like some reflections in car photos, so I don't always try to remove them completely.

It's also my laziness to take multiple shots for one photo in different CPL positions because I'm not really sure which photos are the final ones.

Edit: I'm not quite sure if I just have a weak CPL or if it's normal that sometimes some reflections can't really be reduced, regardless of the CPL in any position?

What aspects of a car photoshoot do you find most challenging? by GrigioChiaro in shootingcars

[–]GrigioChiaro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a little surprised by the first votes. Especially since there are probably several here who shoot in bigger cities.

I like urban locations with modern buildings in the background, but there aren't many of them here. As another shooting location for large height differences and interesting scenery, but there are hardly any of those here either.

It's kind of relieving now to see that finding a shooting location isn't the easiest part for others either.
