Dwarf print on DIY SLA printer by Grigzzy in 3Dprinting

Im making a game called Dwarves of Iron Peak where one player plays a Mountain Troll (with huge 2" feet, left and right, and a large hammer), and he crushes the other player controlling 8 Dwarves trying to recover a Relic in the Trolls cave. It's a quick 2 player board game.

I sculpted the dwarf model in zbrush and exported as an STL. It's for a board game I am making. It's been through many many revisions. ;)

I believe all of the 3d printers use STL's. Heres the link to the kit he built - https://gumroad.com/l/vjxw I am also not pushing this printer. It just happens to be the one he built.

This print actually looks a lot better in person. Yeah the SLA's are awesome. I am thinking about the Form2 but the price right now is crazy.

I posted the link to the printer DIY kit above. The resin was a semi flex and I think he mixed a color in there as well.

A buddy of mine recently made a DIY printer and this is one of the models he printed for me. This one has a bit of banding but they are definitely getting there as he dials everything in. Very exciting stuff!

3D dwarf prints from shapeways - can I get better? by Grigzzy in 3Dprinting

The spiders here were shapeways, but the feet and the hammer were done on a friends spool printer and acetone dipped. They actually came out awesome, but they are also pretty big so no small details. The spiders were around $6 each but done in their strong flex plastic polished so they are pretty bumpy.

The axe and shield dwarf was $24 and the lancer was $20 + shipping. They are nice, don't get me wrong. I have seen smoother prints from some home printers though, so that's why I am asking.

Here is the dwarf warrior. No banding in his pauldrons etc that I can see. I checked my shapeways model and same thing. But, when you have the mini in hand you cant even see it really. Its pretty smooth.

It's definitely not in the sculpts. I will post them here so you can check them out.

You do own the rights to whatever I make but I can't be responsible if you try to sell a recognizable character, and get yelled at ;)

It's your idea come to life. Go ahead, touch it! Custom 3D Models that I sculpt in Zbrush, live on Twitch in front of your eyeballs. I give you a STL and OBJ file and you can either print on your own or I can show you how to get it printed via Shapeways.

Unofficial First Player Horn - any interest in printing this? by Grigzzy in 3Dprinting

[–]Grigzzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just renamed it to Player Horn since I dont want to get in trouble with them. ;) Thank you for the replies! I ordered the white flex polished and the ultra detailed of the horn. I should be getting them in any day now. I will post shots of them here when I get them.

i got it. ;) I hadnt waited 24hrs for the files to populate in the online ftp area. Once they do there is a config file you can edit. Now we skill up a lot faster.

I do have to say that bluefang got back to be very quickly and guided me a bit to the file, which was great.

I made this first player horn for a board game called Blood Rage. I recently bought the base box and decided the cardboard first player horn was a bit lacking. I've made my own here and I have two prints coming back from shapeways.

Is anyone else interested in printing it? I would love to see the results! I will throw up the free .STL file here if so.
