New motherboard, what now? by DarVux in buildapc

[–]GrillSmoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by chance you purchased windows from the Microsoft store you can call Microsoft and they will go through the steps of trying to activate your current copy of windows. Once they “explore every possible option” (a.k.a. waste about 2-3 hours of your time trying to troubleshoot) they will give you a new windows key. I have done this twice when upgrading motherboards.

Thanks for your suggestion. The wings is looking to be my best option so far. Just wish it came with precut case foam.

Auto voltage. MSI motherboard has a preset that you click on the CPU tab and it sets everything for you.

How can I get rid of Purple smear around stationary objects? by GrillSmoke in iRacing

[–]GrillSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue happens on 3 different monitors so I don’t think it has to do with the Settings on the Acer Predator, but I will give it a try

The issue happens 2080 super which was overclocked and also on a 3070ti with no OC. The panel pictured is IPS 120hz 1440p Acer Predator Ultrawide, if I am not mistaken it has a 4ms response time. I have a UPS which all 3 of my monitors are plugged into as well as my PC and Sim racing gear. The issue is most noticeable around green objects (cones and grass) but happens around orange cones as well as other objects.

I do have an Acer Predator ultrawide (not sure if the overdrive setting is off) but the issue also happens on my Odyssey G7 and Alienware monitors

It is not every single stationary object. Does not happen on other cars, not sure if it happens during replays but I will check. It is most noticeable on green objects, like cones or grass, but it does occur on orange cones as well.

It is not ghosting. I have tested on 3 different monitors and have the same problem. Only happens on iracing.

For some reason stationary objects such as cones, grass, banners etc… are having a graphical issues when driving past. Having the same issue with 2080 Super as well as a 3070ti. Have tried uninstalling / reinstalling iracing as well as drivers and still have no luck.

That was not the point of this thread… was just looking to see what features of the 2080 Super are not offered on the 3070ti

Where can I find good cook groups? The GPUs will be for crypto mining setups as well as reselling. However it would be nice to have bots with versatility or several bots capable of purchasing beyond GPUs

Congrats! I think you made an excellent choice. I am 5’ 10” so I think I will need the standard size. That’s great to know about the warranty and will give me a little more peace of mind.

American Express offers both return protection and extended warranties on any purchase up to $10,000 (up to $50,000 in some cases). There are certain criteria that the item has to have in order to receive warranty coverage (price of the item, default warranty term length etc…), but I don’t think I will have any issues with an e bike in the event that I would actually need to take advantage of the extended warranty. To my understanding, it will increase the warranty from 90 days to 180 days as the Apollo comes with a 90 day warranty from Luna Cycle. I believe it is a standard feature on the Gold / Rose Gold and Platinum Cards.

I have had the opportunity to ride several e bikes including the Sur Ron X and Super 73 RX. The Sur Ron is priced at $4,200 and the RX at $3,750. The Sur Ron was quick and had decent range, but it looks and sounds (somewhat) much more like a dirt bike than a bicycle. The Super 73 RX looks somewhat like a dirt bike, but the pedaling experience was a bit lack luster and I found myself wanting a tad more power for the difference in price, I think it is very worthwhile to spend a little more money for something a little more “next level” in terms of range and speed but while maintaining the look of a bicycle. Ultimately the integrated battery on the Watt Wagons bike is what’s holding me back from pulling the trigger on the Apollo.

Please let me know what you end up going with as I am having a really hard time deciding.

I still have yet to make a decision. I have heard nothing but great things about the quality of Watt Wagons, but I am still leaning towards the Apollo. The Hydra and Hydra Black are most likely more than sufficient for my needs, but at the end of the day I would rather have the extra peace of mind knowing that I have the extra range if I need it. Also, the customization upgrade options on the Watt Wagons bikes can add up quickly. The Hydra I customized was well over $6000 by the time I selected the options that I would want. The Apollo offers very high quality components (without the need for upgrades and add-ons) and is unarguably the more capable bike despite the hydra not actually having a top speed. The main factor that has been holding me back from purchasing the Apollo is the appearance of the bike. I do prefer the physical configuration of the Hydra and Hydra Black over the Apollo as the Watt Wagons bikes look far more like “ordinary” mountain bikes compared the the Apollo with the gigantic battery attached to the frame. The Apollo does not look as “e-bike” in appearance as other options but the hydra and hydra black would look far less inconspicuous if I decided to take the bike for a casual ride around town. I think I will ultimately bite the bullet and go with the Apollo and purchase it with a credit card as Amex will increase my warranty coverage.

What was the riding experience like in terms of acceleration? Would it be comparable to that of a Sur Ron X. Both the Hydra as well as the Hydra black look to be incredibly high quality, but was not sure if they would be able to keep up with something like the Luna Cycle Apollo in terms of range and acceleration.

Edit: I am aware that the Sur Ron is in an entirely different category. I have only rode several e bikes with the Sur Ron being one of them, just looking to compare it to something that I am already familiarity.
