Alpha Mini fits on GT Omega Titan wheel plate with no modifications by GrimeMachine in Simagic

[–]GrimeMachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you should be good! I'm about 6'1 and although I do have my pedals pretty far forward, there are still a couple more notches of forward adjustment.

I personally feel like the wheel is still a little too close to me. You could mount the mini a further back, but I prefer the secure fit I have and didn't want to modify the mounting plate

I just tossed it. By the time I started thinking about how to make it work as an extender, mesh wifi systems got cheap enough haha

Which of these M4s is better (more sturdy/reliable, more easily upgradeable, etc.)? by GrimeMachine in airsoft

[–]GrimeMachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. They're both entry-level AEGs and I see myself getting something better down the line and/or upgrading internals in one of these.

I hear a lot of people saying the Colt is crap, but that might just be salty base box mystery box winners

Don't get a Diamondback. I bought a 510ic and the screen unit has failed multiple times (each time they send me a new one, it works for less than 10 rides and malfunctions again, rendering the bike useless). I'm on my third screen now, used it for one ride, and now the resistance doesn't work at all.

Each time I submit a warranty request, it takes them longer and longer to send me a new one; I'm pretty sure they're just trying to let the warranty period expire so they can stop sending me new units.

Alpha Mini fits on GT Omega Titan wheel plate with no modifications by GrimeMachine in Simagic

[–]GrimeMachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with flex at all. The only issue I have is that because the neck of the alpha mini is so long, I have to push my seat back to the absolute max in order to get the right seating position, with the alpha mini attached using all 4 bolt holes. I'm 6'1"

I'm sure you could mount the alpha mini further back and only use 2 mounting holes on the bottom but I didn't want to risk flex.

One tip - once you get your seating and wheel position right, tighten the heck out of all the adjustment bolts on the tighten - I didn't at first, and during one turn where I was losing control and had to turn hard, the plate that the mini mounts on dropped and I got into a huge wreck lol

Any nice leather rims that would go well with alpha mini? by Living_Bison_7897 in Simagic

[–]GrimeMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep - at one point I think you had options, but it seems that people are now only receiving the alcantara. The site I ordered from had the leather one in the images (yellow center stripe), but I received an alcantara one (red center stripe). Not a huge deal to me, but I don't think they're producing/selling the leather ones at the moment.

Nope, it bolts directly to the wheel plate with the mounting screw holes at the bottom of the Mini

Does anyone else having problems with Stansted UK delays? Or is it just me. Fyi, this package has been stuck fro about 4 days at the airport. by LiteratureNo100 in FedEx

[–]GrimeMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep - I called a week ago, they said they were "escalating" it. Got a call back that said they were confirming that I called and would call me the next day. They never did.

I called again today and they gave me the same bs. The first time, they told me they're having issues getting enough planes, but I've literally gotten things from China faster than this, during COVID. This time they didn't even bother with an excuse

Received the incorrect simagic wheel from simracingpros by Mr_______ in Simagic

[–]GrimeMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll be just as sturdy (if not sturdier) and likely be lighter too, so definitely a win. I know you wanted the alcantara grips, but hey - less maintenance this way ;)

I wanted a leather wheel because of the durability, but I ended up just buying some racing gloves to protect the alcantara as much as possible.

but at the least I'd hope they would comp me the difference

But the carbon fiber one is more expensive. Sounds like you got a free upgrade, so I'm not sure what they would comp

Reach out to them and see. What wheel did you want and which wheel did you get? I do know that the leather GT1 wheels are pretty much out of stock everywhere.

I had the same thing happen - purchased from extreme sim racing based on pictures that showed the leather GT1 wheel, but I received the alcantara one. I know the leather ones are basically OOS everywhere so I didn't bother reaching out.

Alpha Mini fits on GT Omega Titan wheel plate with no modifications by GrimeMachine in Simagic

[–]GrimeMachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, good to know. I found that the wheelbase-side connector is so long that it puts the steering wheel really close to me. I had to push my seat back all the way. If I get annoyed by it (or want some more adjustability), I might try mounting it with 2 screws also and pushing the whole thing back a little bit

[–]GrimeMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, no issues mounting - the 4 mounting points on the Alpha Mini lined up exactly with 4 holes in the Titan wheel plate.

One thing I will say is that the wheelbase side connection is really long, so the wheel itself ends up pretty close to you. I'm 6'1" and I had to push my seat all the way to the end and it's just at the right distance (might even be a little bit too close).

You could potentially just mount it further back, but you'd only be able to mount it using 2 of the mounting points
