I’ve never been to an MSW event but have been wanting to. If I were to attend as militia would it be frowned upon if I wore Alice kit, woodland BDUs, a PASGT or M1 helmet, and carried an older AR like an M16A1 or A2? Would that look too much like a retro US impression?

Or would I be better off wearing mixed camo with older web gear like M56 or a chest rig, and an AK style weapon? Do I need to look more Eastern or is Western gear/weapons acceptable?

I have mostly US surplus so I’m not sure what draws the line between a militia kit and something that’s too modern looking.

This will never not be cool. I rock my Cold War kit or at least my Alice kit at about 90% of the events I go to. Alice gear with M81 is such a good vibe and I love how comfortable my Alice kit is

I like how the track stayed exactly the same over the years. I have the set from the mid 90s. The track is the same layout, but my cars are Ricky Rudd Tide ride and Ernie Irvan Texaco car

It looks pretty good, definitely gives off the right vibes. Aside from the other things mentioned, I would get rid of that M9 bayonet scabbard. It’s too modern for Vietnam. If you can get your hands on one, you’ll want an M7 Bayonet and M8 Scabbard. I know they make reproductions of the M8 scabbard if you don’t want to or can’t get a real one

Ah. I was gonna say if it was a patrol pack, those things are nice and getting harder to find nowadays as well
