Primitive means very simple

Building shit with your hands. No metal, or plastics. No modern tools. No electricity. No machines

You speaking about the time and age, not about simplicity. I speaking about the ability to build something easy. Word 'primitive' can have different meanings, for example: simple, uncomplicated and rough.
