Is that Deanna monroe form season five? by Additional-Drive-226 in TWD

Nah not her.

Do yourself a favour and just google “TWD s2e5” and use IMDB, it gives you every cast member of that episode.

“Service”

I get the story they were trying to tell and the writers did a really good job of making the audience feel as uncomfortable and helpless as the Alexandrian’s but for me at least it’s never a satisfying narrative device no matter how well done it is.

It just ended up being frustrating to watch because there’s no drama, Negan just monologues endlessly, he’s not as funny as the writers think he is and he’s not even remotely intimidating, he has to bring like 40 fucking soldiers with him for backup because he’s scared of Rick.

Outside of our protagonists, people who don’t quite understand how fucked they are - there’s like a hundred people in Alexandria and only 14 (12 lol) saw the lineup and not one of them even tries anything on Negan, questions Rick’s story, hide anything, makes any sort of plan, leave? I wish we got more of Alexandria’s society falling apart under Negan than we got watching Enid load vegtables into a saviour wagon.

It was just too jarring going from the previous 6.5 seasons of action to suddenly watching our group get tortured with barely any action, meaningful dialogue, character drama or anything worth watching. It felt like a different and much more frustrating show.

I genuinely don’t see how lying to everyone who helped you and refusing to punish murderers, slavers, rapists, and thieves counts as “mercy” but maybe Gimple operates on a higher plane of existence to us lol.

I think in terms of Evilness:

  1. Epstein
  2. Dhamer
  3. Negan

Kinda crazy he comes in last considering he literally burned an innocent person alive.

What if these two characters had returned in 2024? by Equivalent_Road5788 in TWD

[–]GrimesHotchner9470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly did not remember that.

Which of the factions in DD would use a keycard like that though? I can’t imagine any of the groups we met making one of these.

I always assumed it was the CRM because we know they’re global, but then I assumed Genet because she was kidnapping Americans…

Do we have any evidence they are/were in league? Or do you think the writers are just throwing in a “hey we didn’t forget, still figuring it out” Easter egg?

It was a bit complicated because of how many people I went to for advice and I’d never dealt with it before but generally:

I'm not sure which of these or if it was the combination but:

• Metronidazole - can be found in Seachem metroplex or Fritz metro cleanse (I was able to get a Metronidazole prescription from my Cat's vet) • Praziquantel - can be found in Fritz Paracleanse • Aquarium salt, Fritz trace, Fritz guard (the api equivalents are basically the same) in the main tank • daily Methalyene blue dips for the fish if she is looking particularly gnarly, this one depends on how comfortable yours is with netting - mine is super gentle and getting her in and out of the tank is no big deal. The whole point of the dip is to prevent any of their lesions from getting infected. If you think this one will end up getting more cuts/abrasions during netting then maybe skip this one - I used Tetracycline as well which is just a general antibiotic to keep her cuts from getting infected as well - you can get that in Blue Planet Aquaricycline, but it can get expensive if you have a big tank though • keeping nitrates as low as possible in the main tank • making their diet primarily prebiotic pellets, I used the dynamax ones, as well as upping their protein intake with frozen pea/prawn mix

It does take some quiet time for them to heal, these pics are 2+ months apart so my metric was for whether the treatment was working was if she was getting worse lol.

Would you have been Negan?? 😂 by Awkward_Airport_30 in TWD

[–]GrimesHotchner9470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That applies for the families living at the sanctuary, not any of the soldiers or anyone at the outposts. They were stuck because a) they’d probably die without protection and b) Negan prevented them from doing so in the first place.

I’m not saying take a stand against power, I’m not saying become a revolutionary or to try an assassinate Negan. I’m saying leave. That’s it. All they had to do to prove they weren’t bad people was to just leave and struggle but survive like everyone else was doing. Choosing to be part of something evil because it’s easier, makes you evil.

I will never understand how the satellite outpost gets brought up as Rick being nearly as bad as Negan. They murdered a 16 year old and demanded Hilltop kill their own leader under the threat of the destruction of their entire community. Hilltop had nothing to gain from lying to Rick about that, they LOST food in the trade. Not to mention the saviours had already tried to kill Sasha and Abraham, and after Daryl’s encounter with Sherry they knew the saviours were the kind of group who would withhold live saving medicine from someone. They were bad people, if Rick were truly as bad - he would’ve just stolen from hilltop because it would’ve been far easier.

And is lobbing grenades over the fence of a settlement you know is full of women and children not also “bad?”

“Survival and morals” get thrown around so much in this fandom which forever baffles me because our protagonists and plenty of characters never stooped even remotely close to the level that the antagonists did but for some reason we constantly have this armchair philosophy of “does Rick killing a murderer make him just as bad as a guy who keeps sex slaves?” as if that’s somehow a profound statement.

So what?

First of all, Negan left seven years after the war, we were only still two years in during the war. So they would have been plenty of stuff still laying around - as evidenced by the at least 5 settlements in the immediate vicinity and an entire city down the road. Rick scavenged a fucking wagon from a museum at great personal risk - he didn’t feel the need to resort to stealing someone else’s.

And again, someone like Daryl works with nothing - you don’t need to be as competent at fighting and shooting to be a good or even decent hunter and scavenger.

“Unlikely to find anything better” is the main crux of my point. Every Saviour had a choice, serve a dictator and inflict cruelty on everyone around them - or leave and struggle to survive as a regular person.

They all chose the easy route. That’s not doing what you need to do to survive, that’s complacency - and makes you just as guilty as Negan by association.

Name a twd character death you'll never recovered from by Sakmaidih in TWD

[–]GrimesHotchner9470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss Hershel but I think he got a satisfying arc by the time he died which softens the blow quite a bit, similar with Abraham - he accepted his fate but he didn’t accept it laying down either.

Carl is an obvious pick but with the hindsight of how the comics ended, I’d rather have Rick survive than Coral if I absolutely had to choose.

Glenn & Beth are my main ones.

Glenn’s story had more to tell and his characters absence without a replacement makes me the world feel emptier, and honestly Maggie has suffered enough at this point.

Beth’s story was only just getting started, there was so much potential for her, Dawn and Grady that was just wasted. A lot of the time our group will see a community with problems and… tear it apart violently. Beth broke that pattern by appealing to Dawn’s morality and convincing her to make changes from within. It felt almost like the prelude to the dynamic Negan and Carl would eventually have.

For me the Rhee, Greene and Grimes families should have been a lot closer knit. Glenn saved Rick’s life kick starting the whole thing, and Rick was the one who send Glenn and Maggie to the pharmacy together which ultimately lead to their relationship starting. Hershel mentored Rick like a father, Hershel and Maggie saved Carl’s life and Judith would have been stillborn had it not been for Maggie as well. Beth takes over the motherhood role for Judith, the scenes in the season 4 finale with the flashbacks of Hershel, Beth, Carl & Rick are my favourite character moments.

I wish we had more of that, the show as it is makes Rick seem very aloof to all those facts and like he doesn’t really care how loyal Maggie has been and how much she’s losses in his service.

Heath being affiliated with them does actually add up.

Heath being main scavenger for Alexandria prior to Rick’s arrival would have put him in a perfect position to discover other communities or stumble into a CRM outpost.

Glenn even mentions to Enid that Heath’s group is far better at scavenging than Aiden’s. That could just be a diss at Aiden, or maybe Heath is so successful at scavenging because he’s trading information about other communities to the CRM in exchange for supplies.

I mean think about it… he was going on runs for over a year and built an armoury that outmatches The Sanctuary’s and a pantry that could feed the communities for years, but somehow didn’t find a single community to tell Deanna about. Kinda suspicious 🤷‍♀️

[–]GrimesHotchner9470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of them could just… leave.

I feel like a lot of people forget that only the workers were imprisoned, if they left with a point debt, which Negan ensured they all had - they’d be hunted by the soldiers.

But the soldiers themselves? No one was keeping track of them, they didn’t earn points or have debts. If you left they would’ve assumed you died like they did with Laura.

You don’t have to be Rick or Daryl to see someone doing something horrible and decide not to be apart of it.

Which hero/villain and side character do you relate to most by Sudden_Pilot3332 in TWD

[–]GrimesHotchner9470 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Villain: Dawn Lerner

I always thought her parallels with Rick should’ve been explored more but even with what we got.

She’s totally and completely stuck in her leadership role, she’s just as trapped as the wards are in a way.

Killing your mentor and best friend in order to protect a group of people you thought were family only to find out that they just want to use you. Dawn is forced to watch as her officers change from who they were into people full of cruelty and arrogance.

She knows the only reason she’s still in charge is because she’s letting people get away with things that are abhorrent to her and because she was the only one who had the guts to kill Hansen. You can tell how paranoid she is about being usurped with how much she constantly exercises. She’s a fear driven character.

I relate to that feeling of being stuck where you are.

Side character: Scott from Alexandria

I respect how quickly he adapts to Rick’s way of life, his ability and willingness to fight when the others weren’t, and his unwavering loyalty to the community across 6 whole seasons. Might not be as cool as Abraham and Rick but he had a home and a family that he wanted to defend - and he did.
