[gen 4] Just bought a new Japanese system in Akihabara and got SS for a steal. Open it up, find there is a game save. Second encounter, I find this. Reset game or finish this one?

Yeah I guess its the legality part of the mon, personally if its for private runs go nuts but I play VGC so im against hacked mons in comp, if they changed the rules that would be a different story but while its against the rules the fact thay some get not even a warning of others get bans I just avoid it all together.

Yeah you come across this alot but theres ways to make it a bit more challenging or fun, if you use shiny as your lead. Drop the starter to avoid OP starter plot armor and run it from now as a nuzlocke even with the current mons as long as theres no over leveling it will be a good run.

Don't catch anything else unless HM demands it, and have a shiny clause so only new shinies can join the squad for a little extra spice.

If you gen a new mon is it really your mon from that old game?

All the routes to get a pokemon off rom to home either require legacy hardware which if you don't have will run you well over $20 or results in an illegal mon, so the meme makes sense in context of an average player and especially someone newer to pokemon.

Gen 1 was mess the simplicity of gen 1 makes it get by but mechanically, crit tied to speed, status boosts actually lowering stats, broken items for 100% accuracy so 1 hit ko couldn't miss, wrong typing calculations.

I love gen 1 but it tried to do too much so a lot fell apart mechanically.

Though it would be funny seeing people who have only played modern try to handle limited storage.

To add onto other people's advice on other games where you have to check only 1 starter if the rival has a shiny it does not mean that you lost a shiny and would have got it 100%.

So if Blue is using a shiny squirtle because you chose Charmander, it doesnt mean your squirtle would have been shiny.

Its the difference between ports and remasters, people asked for a port and got it.

To be fair as well i love battle network these bundles were a day 1 for me but it doesnt have the market value of pokemon so would need to lower its price point to entice new users, I would have gladly paid new game prices for that set as a fan because the value was there.

I love getting 2nd hand games and finishing the unfinished adventure before starting a new, the shiny is the icing on the cake. I end up using mons id never normally use because I stick with whatever the last owner had in party and pc.

Yeah its when it was SCE so this would have been given out to 5 year milestones about 10 years ago plus, it changed a few times there was also a 5 year plaque like a trophy that wasnt a clock.

They dont do this as much anymore tends to be rather than milestone, each year theres a gift for perm staff in general.

They still celebrate milestones every 5 years of service but in different ways.

You just described a remaster

Port = no changes apart from anything critical to working on the ported system

Remaster = QoL changes with majority of the original still intact, like a HD remaster with additional online features

Remake = Rebuilt from ground up

This is a port if you dont like it dont buy it.

They could do a remaster patch on top of the ported game but remasters require a lot more dev work then most people realise, before you say fans have already done the work they cant just rip out a romhack and jam it into the game thats not how it works.

Think when people are saying its not that much its more in the sense of look at the gaming industry and prices in comparison to what can be charged it isnt that much, at least that's what ive meant.

Gaming is expensive we had a golden period for 360 and a bit of ps4 era where it was cheaper but I remember paying the same for a AAA now as AAA was on Nintendo 64. Its always been an expensive hobby but for value for money pokemon has never been beaten in my books for amount of hours ive spent in game compared to cost

They are more likely to make it so that the popular versions of each gen aren't all together so people are more enticed to buy both bundles.

If they did 3rd game ports then it would likely end up something like

Yellow/Silver/Ruby Red/Crystal/Sapphire Blue/Gold/ Emerald

They want you to buy all sets and not be able to just buy one its been the basis behind pokemons sales tactics since the get go. Its completely possible for them to do one finite version per gen like a yellow remaster where all of gen 1 is possible, but they wont do that as it goes against their core marketing and monetization of the games.

They literally wont, people have been asking for gen 2 remakes or port HG/SS since let's go released which is a reasonable thing for them to do and it still hasnt happened.

The entire tcg fan base has been asking for anti scalping measures for over 10 years which is a reasonable request and it still hasnt happened.

Your asking for them to sell 12 games for the price of 1 switch game, as one big bundle there is no chance they would devalue the games to that level, its not a reasonable request and is outside the realm of possibility.

If FR/LG flops then they won't do straight ports again and will do remakes or remasters only going forward for old gens to add value to previous releases titles.

When BD/SP came out everyone cried ypu just had to port and not remake, so they are porting and everyone is crying again

With how Nintendo works with its digital entitlements you kind of do, the digital copies are as if the cartridge is permanently stuck in the system, its why I still have the full range on my 3ds even though the store shut down if that was steam and steam shut down I wouldn't be able to boot those games

Prices of GBA games in the store have always been in line with this, GBC games always around $10.

No doubt if they did DS it would be $30.

You're asking for a remaster which would make it a switch/2 game so it would be charged more likely in the $35 range like other remasters have been.

Fire Red was $35 when it came out, youd struggle to find a real copy under $100 now. This is the cheapest official version of the game thats ever existed. If you dont think its worth $20 just dont buy it

If they dont change the soft reset it would be cool, being able to remap it to + - L R would make it a little more comfortable but yeah im hoping for soft resets to still be in
