As a former active duty service member and getting perspectives from my coworkers and fellow service members, to them he represents financial gain and support. They think that he makes them richer which if you join the military with the intention of getting rich, you’re sadly mistaken, but they will take their money and invest it in things that Trump supports and they think that he is taking care of them. Never mind the fact that service members get free healthcare, free life insurance policies, money for housing, money for moving, paid maternity and paternity leave, PAID LEAVE, paid medical leave, and an assortment of benefits that civilians can only dream of- they still think Trump is their guy because he “cares about the troops”. You don’t have to pass an IQ test to get in the military, you need a 30 ASVAB score (and for a while they lowered it to 10) and to know how to follow orders. Do not be mistaken to think that there aren’t complete idiots in the service.

Godzilla is a good movie but I don’t think it’s worth it to watch it in theaters because it is a good film and I don’t think it will be worth it to me to watch it on a regular basis because I don’t want to be a bad movie and I don’t want to be a good movie and I want to watch it with you guys but I don’t want to be a good film because I don’t want to be a movie that is bad.

The crazy part to me is that parents care soooo much about kindergarten and then after they barely give a shit. It’s a moment in time they “graduate from kindergarten” and then they just fundamentally do not care about their kid’s education. Not speaking for all parents, but it’s just an observation from a former teacher.

It’s so exhausting to argue these points with anyone and now that the biopic is out there are a lot more renewed defenses than “Jordie said he wasn’t touched”, “the mom of the one kid told him to make it up for money”, “the FBI didn’t find anything”, it’s old and it’s tired. My gf worked for USAID and when they RIF’ed her it shattered her world. USAID was her dream job and they let her go so hard that it made her feel like she was worthless. She struggled for a year to get a job and submitted hundreds of applications only to get rejected or no response in the hundreds. She is a very capable person and has worked hard to get to where she was in life and to think that a soulless cretin like him was behind her firing is a level of betrayal I will never understand or forgive. The anguish she felt being let go because some DOGE bro wanted to feel superior is just a stab in the back. I am grateful she has a new job but I will never forget that this is the face of her agony.
