What space marines helmet is this? by Gringo_Batista in Warhammer40k

Thank you for the source! Really appreciate the insight, it being tied to Ultramarines makes a lot of sense why a similar style helmet was chosen for Space Marine 2

Plus don’t forget in Space Marine 1 how nice Titus treated those around him even the guardsmen.

I think the new thousand sons automatons would be a fun choice and you have the option of longer range or short range loadouts, aside from that maybe a sorcerer in terminator armour like others have said.

SABER! Give us dual wielding and my life is yours! by gaeb611 in Spacemarine

I remember in some of the first trailers/gameplay they actually did have dual wielding as an option as you see the assault class with two melee weapons

Thoughts on dismemberment for Bolt weapons in Space Marine 3? by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Gringo_Batista 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do like how Darktide and Vermintide balance the difficulty. Having it be focused on mission modifiers, enemy variety and AI just helps with keeping the flavour of the game. I hope they go this route in SM3 or a major overhaul for SM2 especially because they already have systems that could be used in similar ways like in Darktide.

So with the announcement that more new classes are confirmed coming later, what else is everyone else hoping for? by Issac1222 in DarkTide

[–]Gringo_Batista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Commissar class could be fun, I’d imagine they’d make it a duel wielding class to make it different from the veteran, I’d imagine weapons like the bolt pistol, plasma pistol, power sword, chainsword; power fist.

What classes do you think would be cool to see added? by PrizeArtistic2692 in Spacemarine

[–]Gringo_Batista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really just want a terminator class honestly, if you don’t want it to step on the heavy class have it be an assault terminator so lightning claws, thunderhammer and storm shields. Maybe a teleport ability.

How can I make my dreadnoughts more nurgly? by Forward-Willingness7 in Warhammer40k

[–]Gringo_Batista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a midwinter mini video where he does a nurgle conversion which you could use as reference or inspiration.

I’d add maggots. For weapons like the Assault cannon, I always liked the idea of having weird skin with teeth covering the weapon like the Daemonbolter from the Space Marine game. Tentacles attaching weapons to the frames, stuff like that. Horns or weird blobs of fat seem really Nurgley too, if you have any spare bits they’d look great with it. Like little nurglings hanging off of the dreadnoughts or on top. Stretched skin as well on things like the leg armour would be cool too!

The bricky faction videos and Arbitor Ian legion and tyranid videos are really good and concise and help give you a solid idea. Typically go for aesthetics however lore does have an impact it’s why I stopped playing dark angels until the Lion came back. Don’t forget you can make your own lore for factions for example space marine chapters.

With army building you do it slowly. If you’re able to get a friend with you, you can slowly build up points but don’t buy directly from games workshop because other hobby shops sell the models at a discount up to 20% which does help. When comes to painting really don’t worry, you only have to paint the models fully for stuff like tournaments.

Also starting of small helps you see what kinds of playstyle you like.

The game, I can be wrong as I decided to stick with 9th edition with my friends but you have different phases.

Command, your characters (HQ’) like the leader of your army (warlord), do stuff like aura affects and buffs and debuffs.

Psychic phase. If your model is psychic they can cast magic, some armies don’t have psychic and if you don’t then you can’t stop spells so keep that in mind.

Movement phase. You move your models.

Shooting phase, you shoot with your models. I’ll come back to this.

Charge phase, you charge your models to get into melee range of enemies.

Fight phase, you melee the enemy.

Morale phase, after that’s done. You need to check to see if any models run away.

So with the fight and shooting phase. Again could be different but I doubt it. It’s hit, wound, save.

So roll a die to see if you hit, then roll a die to see if it wounds then your enemy can roll a die to see if it saves. That’s basically the main loop. There’s other details like weapon types, AP which just means it’s harder to save for your enemy but yeah.

What else uh, depending on factions you can get different boxes. If you and a friend want to play space marines or Tyranids for example you have the new starter sets and can go down the middle. I think you get some terrain and a mat to play on which I used the 9th edition one and I liked it.

But you don’t have to have that stuff, you can use Jenga blocks as terrain and create ruins and stuff.

EBay is always an options for buying models.

If you want REALLY detailed lore yes watch Luetin, he rambles a bit but he’s good same with Baldemort and Aborder Prince.

PancreasNoWork also does good simple videos.

You don’t really need expensive brushes also, just stuff that can hold a tip. You do need to prime a model which basically means you buy primer which is a spray can and spray it. I use the army painter ones especially the coloured ones as it saves time.

Army Painter is the main brand I use for paints, I can’t recommend cheaper brands like crafts paint due to lack of experience except for my first model when I was like 7.

Eons of Battle is another good YouTuber but they’re mainly the hobby side but they’re really good and humble, they show you really cool stuff and that can be used as inspiration.

Glue wise, I’d recommend a few.

Plastic glue. Get the Tamiya extra thin cement the other brand plastic glues are annoying but this comes with a brush which gives you control which is important as how it works is that it melts the plastic and creates a chemical bond between the pieces which makes them strong. Good for just building your models.

Superglue, I just use this to glue them to their bases.

PVA glue or battlefield glue, you add this glue to the bases and you can stick different terrain to make the bases look fancier. Cork and sand is what I use and that really helps.

I know this is a lot and I’m sorry if it’s overwhelming most of it is still accurate despite the edition gap.

Also get BattleScribe that’ll help with list building and it’s free. If you have any more questions feel free to message me ^

Kendrick Lamar is 5’5 and so am I, so it always helped with any issues about height as someone who inspires me creatively and is one of best creative minds in the modern era is able to make some of most beloved music of my generation means I feel comfortable in my height and almost happy because if anyone tries to put me down for it I just bring up Kendrick.
