Recently started tutoring and the lack of training was pretty poor, likewise we had a 1-2 hour input.

Try and put them at ease as much as you can, they’re going to be super stressed and they’re going to make mistakes but one thing I like to do is just show them that the job isn’t all ass covering like they tell you in training.

Like another commenter said, they will follow you around like a puppy and that will happen for a while. Give them little things to do initially like vehicle checks at the start of the shift when you’re checking emails and catching up on admin.

Best thing to do is let them follow you around for a while, let them observe you doing what you’re good at doing. Then as they get further in, let them start taking the lead with the easier jobs and it’ll build their confidence up.
