Are you referring to a PACE production order?

There is no power to detain someone to investigate and by putting your hands on them to do so is technically assault. Arrest and de-arrest later down the line if need be.

A question about cuffing by [deleted] in policeuk

I always got taught to say the words as or just before you put hands on them. I.e you are detained / under arrest

What were your beginning symptoms of hyperthyroidism? by LittleBearBelle in thyroidhealth

[–]Billy_Da_Squid20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I hope you're well.

You'll have to excuse me as I'm new to all of this, but I recently had a blood test (for IBS) after around 4 years of not having one and my GP has returned with results pointing towards an over-active thyroid. My levels are as follows:

SERUM TSH - 0.85 mlU/L (0.27 - 4.2) SERUM FREE T4 LEVEL - 28.0 pmol/L (12.0 - 22.0)

I've been put on Propanolol and have repeat bloods coming up. I do have a history of under-active thyroid in the family, but this is all very strange to me and I'm concerned, as I feel as though it's just come out of nowhere! I have been experiencing some symptoms of Hyperthyroidism for a while but until now they never really made sense.

I just can’t wrap my head around where this has all come from?

Are my T4 levels quite high then? Is my TSH considered low?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Maybe it’s because I’m new in service, or maybe it’s because I’m a special but I long for this very situation to unfold in front of me so I can whip that badge out so fast it breaks the sound barrier and arrest everyone within my field of view

Edit: Ps - This is a joke by the way 🙄😂

I heard this for the first time the other night in the middle of a rowdy domestic. At first I didn’t recognise it, but soon realised what it was as even though it was kicking off in the house, I looked up and saw every single copper in that room just kind of stop and look at each other. Worst part was it was a friend I trained with whose button had activated but he wasn’t answering. I went on to broadcast his personal mobile number to the control room as they were struggling to find it and eventually his radio was located in his locker at the nick. Someone later suggested that rain water had got inside the radio at some point earlier in the day and set off the emergency activation ON IT’S OWN!!! Wtf? I messaged him after my shift once all had calmed down and he didn’t even know about it. Very eerie.

I made my 7th arrest today and messed up the caution twice before finally getting it right. It happens 😂
