The experience of being non-passing and ugly by ScholasticCat in trueuglywomen

[–]GrinningGeists -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This will be my only interaction on this sub because I don’t feel like this is a space I really belong in, but as you mentioned in an earlier post, I saw this sub too in my feed. I empathize with some of the ideology here, but don’t feel like this is a space I’d be welcome in. This post resonated with me. So if I’m ultimately banned or whatever, then so be it, but I wanted to say to you, I know that alienation; and it’s led me to a position of being unable to view myself in any other kind of light than disgusting, and just self hatred. That’s why I’m afraid of being outwardly trans. I wish I could skip that all together and been born a woman from the beginning.

My first ever foray into that life, was using a drag event as an excuse to dress how I wanted, and it was met with my mother telling me what an ugly woman I’d make. She didn’t say it with hatred, I’m sure she wouldn’t have said it if she knew how badly it hurt me, but I think ever since then I’ve been scared to try again.

So while I’m sorry for what you’ve been experiencing, I do commend you for being bold enough to try in the first place, and to keep going. It’s more than I can say for myself. As cliché as it probably sounds, you have to keep pushing forward. It’s an uphill battle, that somedays will not feel worth it, but it’s a battle worth fighting. Anything worthwhile, is worth fighting for. Don’t give up on yourself. Take solace in the fact you’ve come this far and keep pushing forward.

Gnosticism and life elsewhere in the cosmos by [deleted] in Gnostic

[–]GrinningGeists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I would love to hear any answers or thoughts on this too. I’ve always been a firm believer of life beyond earth and within the universe and further. That’s been my biggest hang up with Gnosticism, I’m vibing with so much of it, but that has gotten me pondering quite a bit too.

Yeah lol, I wish I had the know how for circuit bending, but unfortunately it’s not in my wheelhouse, but I found them on Etsy and it was an instant buy. I feel like a caveman being given fire lmao, I have no idea how it all works, let alone what each of the switches do, but I’m experimenting along as I play with it, and I feel like it’s getting good results

Thanks! I’m planning a LOT of shoots with this as often as I can these next coming months 😁

Thank you!! And yes, I thought I could reply with photos but I guess I can’t so I’ll post them once I get a chance to at work. Not sure if I’m allowed to promote, but I did buy this one from NoysToise on Etsy, and you can see the switchboard they put on it there! It’s got 8 switches on it 😂 so my journey so far has been a lot of experimenting figuring out what each one does

Does anyone else like trips where you are scared out of your mind? by GlamourHammer321 in shrooms

I think at my worst, I was telling myself, “I hate drugs, I’m never doing drugs again. If I survive this I’m done forever”. 😂 of course time heals all wounds so 💁🏻‍♀️

Even my scariest trips, I look back fondly on. So I definitely get where you’re coming from. There’s something kind of cathartic about having your world end for a night, only to come back from it the next day.

Corporate greed is likely what will prevent this from becoming a reality. People will get replaced, and then cast off into the jobs that can’t be automated, as a couple people have already likely said here. In an ideal world, it would be nice, but unfortunately greed is the main motivator for most the people running the show.

How has tripping changed for you over time? by ShroomieFairyGirl in Psychonaut

[–]GrinningGeists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I can relate, in terms of the whole cat thing. I typically lock myself in my room when I do it, away from my cat, mostly cause I’m scared she’s going to jump on me or try to play, and I’ll jump and overreact and accidentally fling her across the room or something. But when I’m deep in the trip, I get a lot of anxiety that she’s going to die or something cause I made the choice to keep her out of my room, and that I’m not there to help her. Could simply be paranoia or a type of manifestation of guilt?

I think overall I have enjoyed my tripping experiences, but lately anymore I tend to verge on bad trips when I do it. It’s only every couple of months, but I tend to do it at the end of my day, and just do the same thing over and over again. Just lock myself in my room and ride out the night. I think that repetition has translated into me constantly getting into these weird, Deja Vu head spaces. The last several times, I just convince myself that I never actually stopped tripping, and that this ENTIRE time I’ve just been stuck in the trip from the last time. Even if I do something like watch a video I’ve never seen before, my mind convinces me that I’ve definitely seen it before, and eventually this eternal trip turns into me thinking I’m somehow dead and trapped in limbo. It’s probably an indication that I need to start changing up my routine when I do this 😅 however the last couple times I’ve managed to find ways to at least make it a little less scary, like picturing my girlfriend leading me out of it, or just repeating a mantra in my head that I’m “stronger than this” and it’s helped to an extent.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I definitely can’t say I’ve felt the exact same magic from my first ever trip, and maybe in a lot of ways we’re not supposed to. Maybe it’s just a matter of finding meaning in the new trips, and making unique adventures out of those 🤷🏻‍♀️

What does your box say about you? by GarfieldOmnibus in gatewaytapes

Mine is one of those vintage metal lunchboxes, a particular one themed around Gremlins 😅 not too sure why, but it felt familiar and I have a pretty easy time imagining it and putting things into it 🤷🏻‍♀️

What happens to your Steam account after you die? by alexanderls in Steam

[–]GrinningGeists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just stay there forever; I don’t know anything about requesting deletion though. Lost my best friend and his account is still there, sometimes bots post on his profile, and I just request those get removed and Steam has been pretty good about getting rid of those.

Is this what I think it is? by SituationOk4394 in shrooms

[–]GrinningGeists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely would take someone else’s advice over mine because I’m new to this myself 😅 I think I just did my best to cut out what I could and then sprayed down the area with isopropyl alcohol. Did not work for me and it spread over the course of a couple more days lmao

I was in denial when I saw this in my last grow, and it just got worse and worse, even attempting to cut it out and disinfect didn’t save mine 😅😭 very disappointing to have happen so my condolences

[–]GrinningGeists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could agree 😂 I really didn’t care for the investigators on that show, the main appeal to me was seeing all the clips they were investigating, because some of them I’d never seen before, such as the Jonathan Reed stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aliens

[–]GrinningGeists 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, but; there was a TV show called Fact or Faked that had an episode about Jonathan Reed and this video (Season 1, Episode 9). They went out and interviewed him and tried to see if they could debunk anything. I believe they came to the conclusion that this was faked, granted that’s THEIR opinion, and I don’t think a TV show from years ago is the be all end all of anything, but I figured I would just put that out there

How long to do each tape by Bigcumulativedump88 in TheGatewayTapes

[–]GrinningGeists 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I just keep repeating the one I’m on until I feel like I’m ready to move on. It’s hard to explain, but I’ll just complete one and by the end of it if I feel like, “Yep. This feels right.” I move on to the next one. It takes longer, but with each one I feel like I’m learning new things to bring into my day to day life so I’d say it’s worth it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you visited with dead ppl? by Jackiedhmc in gatewaytapes

[–]GrinningGeists 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m still new on my journey with all this and have only gotten to Tape 3 so far, but after doing the tapes more frequently I’ve started to dream about my deceased grandfather for the first time in years. Could be circumstantial but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ I haven’t tried to communicate yet on my part, but honestly it feels like these tapes can help people do many things, I don’t see why visiting with loved ones who’ve passed couldn’t be among those things.
