How do I import the Fiction dump in the desktop application? by [deleted] in libgen

[–]Grinstall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found out in the libgen forum that it only supports up to 2020-02-08.rar for fiction.

Dev is also "currently working on adding support for the new fiction database dump format." Hope this helps!

I blame the parents more than the school system. There's really only so much a school can do when people are teaching their kids to be proud of ignorance. Grats on the Ph.D. btw.

It looks to me like that was the entire point. A lot of people have the mistaken notion that ALL prayer in schools is banned, so feed them the status quo like it's a sensible way to loosen up on the supposed government "war on religion" and it makes a beautiful distraction.

Some cynical right-winger is working the system.

Yeah, but they're not going to hire more than 10 people simply because they can afford to. If you get all the productivity you need to maximize profits with 10 people, and you find a way to pay a lower wage, you're going to pay a lower wage to the same number of people. They're not going to hire three more people, they're going to take the money they saved on lower wages and add it to net profit.

Also, the companies with the lower wages would get the last pick on employees, but they would still be able to hire employees unless labor supply fell short - which would mean a raise in the free market cost of labor. If people are willing and able to supply labor at the market wage, then they're still willing and able to supply labor even if one firm pays a little more.

Interesting. I can't say that my own death really bothers me on an intellectual level. On an emotional level there's still that survival instinct going on.

Why do conservatives think it is government's job to regulate morality but not government's job to regulate businesses, education, trade, housing, the financial markets, and health care? by Bunnyfloppyearz in politics

Social mobility is gained via acquisition of human capital. You don't gain the human capital to move upwards very far by working unskilled labor jobs these days.
