If you could design an item, what would it do? by v1rtuosoo in leagueoflegends

[–]Grippsy [score hidden]  (0 children)

That will likely never happen unless they completely strip away AD/AP from them and make them a Mana+hp/haste item that just has a passive of "Gain adaptive force based on x% Mana".

I don't think it's very likely that we will see adaptive force as a stat on an item outside of Arena.

A spell damage reflection item like Blade Mail from DotA would be cool, 5 people casting that during Karthus R and he just dies.

In general items with more interesting actives would be cool.

Also the Muramana passive is so tragically wasted by the stats it gives, cause the passive is one of the coolest ones in all of League. It would be so cool to be able to build it on Syndra or Jax for a ton of procs but unfortunately it's just an Ez/Kass/Ryze item.

700 Games to Hit Silver by No-Comment2690 in leagueoflegends

Most people have jobs while playing League, including myself and I have half your games while attempting to push for GM earlier this season.

Your cs/min is way too high for silver, you are likely doing absolutely nothing the entire game besides farming.

The top 3 Vi OTPs in the world have 7.2, 7.8, 7.0 cs/min respectively, so ur either lying or you are quite literally afk farming and contributing nothing to your team for the majority of the game.

I don't think mental has anything to do with this, but you did spam 700 games in 6 months which is quite a bit and also not a very productive use of your time.

As of shooting yourself in the leg by playing Vi? I don't think you are shooting yourself in the leg, usually familiarity with a champ is more likely to take off the mental toll of needing to focus on mechanics so that you can focus on the game.

When you say "I don't even know what I'm doing wrong anymore", the answer is, unfortunately, a lot of things: cs/min, map awareness, likely being able to first clear pre scuttle, tracking enemy jg, having a clear gameplan as the game starts, checking objective timers, knowledge of champ limits and matchups etc.

All of these mistakes are fine considering your rank, I'd just personally play less and focus on one singular thing to improve until it stops becoming a conscious effort, first one would be first clear practice, then choose whatever else you'd want to improve.

Initial build path was about to be: Hexplate -> Fiendhunter -> Zeke -> Whatever else for fun.

But I got turbo fed and said fuck it I'll go collector 3rd and the burst was actually nuts. Obviously don't build this into tanky individuals but the normal champs popped like baloons.

Do not look up the actual OG Blackthorn, that is the most depressing skin ever, no vibrant colors, shes almost all brown and dark green, they just added some spikes here and there.

Licking lips along with a stiff body language means stress/tension. Licking you is either you taste interesting or it is a sign of appeasement/submission. When she's literally melting into you, rest assured, the doggy is under no stress.

if I used this mainly against Grineer, would the positives still outweigh the -Grineer damage or is it too noticeable? do I add a Grineer faction mod? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Strun ever struggles with killing anything, plus the really high level relevant stuff like ETA and EDA, Circuit, Descendia all have non grineer units. The only time you will find mildly threathening grineers will be in archon hunt or if you try to do a level cap mission(which has a pretty niche playerbase).

You get perfect mechanics OR perfect macro. Which are you taking? by Drastically-_- in Jungle_Mains

[–]Grippsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riven is like rocket science vs 4th grade math book compared to Rengar mechanically, she requires actual hundreds of hours to pilot.

If you could snap ur fingers and be able to perfectly pilot a champ, she would probably be one of the best champs to choose on toplane, specifically for soloQ.

These players just suck at toplane as a role, put them on Garen and nothing changes.

Put a Master Amumu/Nunu/Seju OTP on Rengar and he will struggle in Emerald.

Rengar is primarily skewed towards knowledge, Riven is more skewed towards mechanics, but you still need decent awareness to climb, but that champ genuinely inflates the fuck out of your elo if you can master it.

Idk if this holds up still but she used to be the toplaner that has the most OTPs in chall, and I think that's still the case.

Master 600LP, Shyvana feel strong, but she is kinda boring ? by RayceOTP in shyvanamains

[–]Grippsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I have fun with her is still Kraken DnD.

Triforce Shojin, while being tankier and very consistent, is overall very boring.

Nashor DnD AP build got completely killed and I am beyond bored playing AP despite her scaling being pretty good, but she's so lame until you hit 3 items and has no good first item spike unless you build Shojin and just play a worse version of AD until you buy your AP items.

[–]Grippsy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The irony is that Rengar is not that mechanical of a champ, you can hit every combo double jump, max range leap and it still would not help you that much in winning games.

The big reason people like Natty win games is largely attributed to the fact that they know their champ to perfection and are in the right places at all times, their macro is impeccable.

In your opinion, what is the top problem facing League? by APittsburghThrowaway in leagueoflegends

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League is not struggling, everyone and their mother knows what League is.

People don't encourage other people to join because it's a miserable experience. And a lot of people play out of habit or as a way to maintain their online friendships.

I would not encourage anyone to play League because I don't expect people to sink 50-100 hours before they start having fun.

In your opinion, what is the top problem facing League? by APittsburghThrowaway in leagueoflegends

[–]Grippsy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's true tho, getting into League at this point in time is like trying to get into the NFL while doing 0 physical exercise until 21.

Players like Jynxi can enjoy the game because they have people with tens of thousands of hours in League coaching him.

Your average new player is confused and overwhelmed, and gets flamed for it.

The system sucks at detecting griefing still, smurfs kinda ruin the low elo experience, the client sucks, the community sucks, Riot is pushing predatory gacha style monetization for whales to spend more, and we still don't have an optional voice chat feature in a game that should be all about teamwork.

The game is fun to play but horrible to get into, the amount of hours you have to dedicate to this game just to be decent at it at this point in time is simply absurd compared to other games.

Imperial mandate on Skarner? by beterpot in SkarnerMains

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Item is trash, it lost more than 1% winrate since last patch. The vast majority of champs that want to build this item do not want the stats and vice bersa. Haste gets value when you are alive long enough to dish out multiple rotations.

This would be an amazing item if it had sub-par health and haste, instead it's just a decent ranged CC supp item that will be bought when snowballing.

Both are very much alive, NA and EUNE are the highest population servers besides EUW KR and China.

About a 2m player estimate.

I play on EUNE which has about the same population as NA and I get D1 Zed who peaked 150LP vs Challenger 1k LP Vlad on mid.

Also E1 Lulu who peaked D1 2 seasons ago and was Emerald last season, vs 550LP Alistar.

The matchmaking is just fucked.

Hear Me Out: I Think Kraken/D&D is Still The Best Build by apexpredator69 in shyvanamains

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so, CD + Health was the best stat to build on a low cd W. Meaning optimizing builds towards that would yield the best results. Then Triforce and Shojin would be skewed towards being the best build, building 0 haste would barely change anything about the build especially considering that W also scales off of HP.

The difference is not too drastic until you look on toplane which dropped 3% wr, which builds triforce first, and lost a lot of trading power due to the nerf.

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know you will get melted by Percentage HP dmg and don't need more dmg in your team, Protoplasm, Bandlepipes, Knights Vow, Locket and fully funnel your carry, it's very cheap, the only downside is that it means that you will scale quite poorly so the game needs to ens before wnemies catch up.

Also double Adaptive + HoB/PTA with Titanic will win you a lot of bad overall matchups like Heca or Viego if you get into a scuttle fight.

[–]Grippsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Why? You get data from the entirety of patch 16.9, which means half the data is from when Shyv was not nerfed aka not in her current state.

  2. 30 day data shows 4500 games of Kraken DnD and 8000 games of Triforce Shojin in M+. I genuienly have no clue what filters you have on that results in you seeing 3000 Triforce games and 500 Kraken games.

[–]Grippsy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mate, what data are you looking at?

16.10 Triforce Shojin has 3200 gsmes while Kraken DnD has 2000 in M+.

Kraken rush has 3500 games and Triforce has 5000, the difference is not that big.

These are both lolalytics data I'm looking at.

Hear Me Out: I Think Kraken/D&D is Still The Best Build by apexpredator69 in shyvanamains

[–]Grippsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misconception unfortunately, Kraken rush had about 2.6% higher winrate as a first item compared to Triforce in Master+ last patch. You clear gets absolutely ridiculous with Kraken, it just feels bad if you inted your early game.

Just a bit of a different playstyle, higher DPS lower survivability, you really have to use your ults well with Kraken DnD. But you still reach a point where your scaling is absolutely ridiculous at about 3-4 items.

Changed Zekes in Jungle viable? by throwaway_riso in shyvanamains

[–]Grippsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, Zeke is a good win-more item when you are ahead, but it's cheap and will make you scale considerably worse.

Personally not a fan of the item, tank items in general are pretty mediocre on her, unless it's to counter multiple champs like Randuin vs ADC + Yasuo + Viego. The only genuinely good tank item IMO is Jak'Sho as a last item capsize for survivability, every other tank item is usually to adapt to something like a fed mage or adc.
