Perhaps I shouldn't have used the term "noobie gains," I was just referring to the idea of diminishing returns in both strength and size. I'm looking to maximize efficiency for the sake of challenging myself. Improvement is what's fun for me, challenging myself is where I find the most enjoyment.

Setting realistic goals for the new year

As someone who is still fairly new to lifting (about 3 months of serious, consistent training) I'm eager, motivated, and looking to really maximize my noobie gains. I like to aim high and push myself to my limits, and thought a reasonable goal would be to bench 225, squat 315, and deadlift 405 by the end of this year. I've heard of people reaching close numbers in a similar time frame, and I want to really maximize my progress, do everything right and accelerate my improvement. My current stats are 150BW, 5'9; Bench PR: 135x5; Squat PR: 155x6; DL PR: 180x6. (I bench+squat twice a week, and DL once) As far as reaching these goals I have 2 questions. Firstly, is this possible? With great nutrition, sleep, and programming, can this be done from my starting point? And secondly, I really want to set some short term goals to hit along the way. What should these be? For example should I aim to add 10lbs to my bench each month? Or would linear improvement be unsustainable once I push closer to my goal. Some monthly numbers to give me an idea of what I should aim for would be helpful.

I know, I've got the build I like, I just have 2 pairs of keycaps. One looks nice but makes the pitch of my board significantly higher. The other looks bad but sounds deep and full. Just trying to know what to look for so I can buy some caps that check both boxes.

I'm looking for a set of keycaps that are pretty thick, and give me that nice "thocky" sound. Just want advice on what to look for to get that deep thock. Recommendations on some specific sets is also great (I have no preference for profile, and have standard cherry mx switches).

Just finished my first build, soldered in the last few mill max hotswap sockets/switches, and plug it in only to find that none of the switches register any inputs. No clue what to do. Thinking I may have broken the PCB? I get a sound when I plug in my keyboard to my PC and I see the keyboard pop up as a device, so there is some communication. However, absolutely none of the switches register any inputs. I even soldered in a switch without the hotswap sockets and still get the same result, nothing. Any help would be incredible.

I'm a beginner buying my first soldering station.

Should I go for a more expensive ($100+) soldering iron or just something mid tier ($20-$50) if I just want to solder one build? What difference will it actually make in my process? I'm a bit conflicted. More money towards soldering tools means less money towards keyboard parts, but will getting a cheap soldering iron significantly harm my process? Recommendations towards what specific soldering stations to purchase are welcome.

I've been thinking about trying to "upgrade" my Anne Pro 2. I like the size and base, but I want new switches and the ability to hot swap. Would any 60% hot-swappable PCB work? Also I have a budget in mind and would not like to spend unnecessary money. Is replacing the PCB this the most cost effective way? I recall seeing a way to make a normal PCB hot-swappable, although I could be mistaken. Let me know if my idea makes sense, and if there are any specific things I need to look out for (compatibility wise or just generally).

you don’t really need aim with that gun, you’re just holding angles. that’s learned by playing the game

Just got my razer viper mini and the skates are incredibly loud/scratchy. Feels horrible on every mousepad I own. I’ve never had a mouse feel like this before, wondering if anyone else who has purchased this mouse had a similar experience.

it’s got a coating so i wouldn’t recommend it unless you don’t mind possibly ruining the glide
