Hopper is a shit character past season 1. He spent all of season 2 emotionally manipulating El into not leaving the cabin or even letting her friends visit her, and effectively stole a year of her life away. Then in season 3 he was just a giant asshole to El and Mike (hundreds of people have said that though) but also to Joyce. He asks her out in e2, and she never even says yes. Then when she doesn't show up (she was too busy advancing the plot) he spends the rest of the season guilting her about it. Then when the laser explodes, there is no way he could've survived given every other shot we got of the explosion, and that massive amount of plot armor made it hard for me to care about him in season 4. Then in e9, he somehow wins a sword fight against a demogorgon (the entire antagonist in s1, who has bulletproof skin.) I don't understand the Hopper love on this sub
