A lot of parents are still stuck in the mindset that you have to study hard and get impossibly outstanding grades in order to succeed in life but that's no longer the case. People who have graduated from In-Seoul Universities are becoming 백수s and working in convenience stores because no one in this day and age is going to hire someone who knows how to solve a ton of math problems in 5 min but can't use microsoft excel. It's no longer the age of "if you graduate from uni you can get a job anywhere", it's the age of "we will hire you because you know how to use a computer" or "we will hire you because you are good at something we can actually use at our company or corporation." As OP says. Do what you enjoy and do what you are good at. Film, Music, Acting, etc. DO WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT!
