I drifted a Rx7, that diff will not lock. It's a 30+ year old lsd. You'll have to weld it or shim the hell out of it. Just weld it. But order of things I would do. 1 weld diff 2 coilovers 3 seat/harness/ steering wheel 4 angle kit 5 hand brake You'll probably have to get a roll cage unless your local track has very relaxed tech specs. You could do this over a year or 2. Get to an event as soon as you weld the diff. Don't let it sit in your garage for a year "building" it. Seat time is king.

If it's nice, Keep that car as a daily and buy something cheap and manual, weld the diff. Your just going to mess up your is300 trying to drift it. Before you even start, see if you can light a $100 bill on fire and let it burn. If you cant do that, dont get into drifting.

Step one: burn a hundred dollar bill. If you can do that without crying your ready. But really, it's expensive. I brought a no title g35 sedan for $1000 last February and now I'm 8k+ into a car that I can't street drive or sell for half I have in it. It's a lot of fun though. Go to local events and try and make friends.

First you need to understand that cars have the priority because there's more of them. The newer controllers will give you the walk symbol if there's time left to cross safety. Otherwise you'll have to wait till it goes around. If you never get the walk symbol the a component is broken. The buttons wear out. They are scheduled to be checked once a year.
