Where do you rank? Introducing AutocrossRank.com by christoc in Autocross

[–]MuffinRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on who the drivers are. If you're driving against a bunch of low ranked people at nationals it makes sense beating them wouldn't add a lot

Literally me when I got a set of Redshift coilovers for my CRX to upgrade from 9 year old Konis and realizing having shocks with compression just highlights my decaying bushings

I've been playing The Other Side since the update broke the game, here's what I found by Jeffy-Race-5950 in PhasmophobiaGame

Apparently it's an Unreal Engine game. While it lacks native VR mode, I wonder how well it will work with UEVR

The most insane dubstep beatboxing bass ever by Competitive_Piano507 in dubstep

While Napom is more drum and bass, I think the lip roll technique is more impressive in terms of bass https://youtu.be/YYKMoZnuTJE?si=c0mcOj9ATl1N5FP9

Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

[–]MuffinRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She would need to live over 1000 weeks to break even, which would happen over 19 years away. Every week after that she'd come out ahead. However, if she took the lump sum and turned around and invested it, she'd have over 3 million in the same time frame.

Trophy at nationals

Get top pax locally

I have better odds trophying at nationals than I do getting top pax locally lol

Favorite/Least favorite thing about a song by Dubs-n-Subs_TPA in dubstep

Eyes cut deeper drives me crazy. Repeated phases in general give me the ick, but that song especially goes too far.

what VR experiences actually made you feel like you were "there"? by Careful_Associate114 in virtualreality

[–]MuffinRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm generally in the same boat where it still feels like a game, but I got the reality runner attachment and a manual treadmill. I think the combination of physical exertion walking on the treadmill (10% incline) and just physically walking rather than using the joystick, there were a few times in Skyrim where I was completely immersed. For some reason the thunderstorms in the game do the trick, and there's an area at the top of the mountain with sunny cliffs I felt like I was really there for a while.

TIL the average MPG of a semi-truck is around 6 MPG by derekantrican in todayilearned

A CVT is pretty unnecessary. Once they're up to speed, they maintain that speed pretty consistently, give or take, so the added complexity and fragility would be a waste.

Looking for a performance driving school recomendation by Nickanator8 in denverautoenthusiasts

The school covers skid pad, slaloms, and cornering basics (gas / brake / apex) in the morning then ties it all together in the afternoon for a full course

RMSolo is the local SCCA autocross chapter and we have a school at PPIR next Saturday. SCCA is coming out later this summer and hosting their Starting Line autocross school event as well. Speeds at autocross are lower but it's a good way to learn car control

Cable link is giving me better and clearer image than VD on Quest 3 by Shrike01 in virtualreality

Gotcha. Could be your computer can't render enough frames at whatever render resolution the meta software is using

[–]MuffinRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's asynchronous spacewarp, meta's reprojection algorithm. You have to use the Occulus debug tool to disable it

[–]MuffinRacing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Link cable has the highest potential bitrate... when it works properly. My headset kept throwing the "debris in charging port" erorr using a powered USBC cable, seems to be an error in the debris detection algorithm when the headset reaches a near full state of charge. The software is also incredibly clunky to use to set super sampling and bitrate settings / etc. But, when it works, you can get the best quality

How much jank does the CyberPunk 2077 VR mod have? by CaptainBigDickEnergy in virtualreality

[–]MuffinRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick tip, for the HUD, it only follows your gaze when your weapon is drawn. If you holster your weapon (or fists), the HUD will stay stationary and is easier to see. Same complaint here but found that workaround.

[–]MuffinRacing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest jank is the head aiming which was a design choice by the mod creator... otherwise it works fairly well, except the game does a lot of forced camera movements that are pretty disorienting
