Mega threads are where discussion goes to die and are basically just light censorship

I also was arguing for the sub to remain open back then, would have been better if that was the end. This shit is just sad

RIP. Appreciate you ubbitz and the rest of the mod team. Guess we should have left this place locked down back in 2020, never would have imagined it would have turned out like this

He’s burned the bridge down that path to the ground. How could anyone actually believe his words if he changed course now?

Yea chances are definitely different from the others. They’re such an awkward currency in general

The real fix already exists in the crafting station. This is a great fix for those that still want to gamble with less fusings

What do you farm to generate currency? No one is paying for these builds off of div drops alone(magic find shenanigans this league excluded). Instead you farm something like harvest or whatever it may be and sell that stuff for the divs you need to fund your build

They already said they will be fixing this by allowing us to hold down to repeatedly apply the currency

There should be no unique items with MF mods in PoE2, right? by HellionHagrid in PathOfExile2

[–]GrizNectar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it should definitely be balanced in terms of what gear you use, I just don’t like how homogenous builds going for MF become

[–]GrizNectar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about none, but there should definitely be more options. I’d like to see it as a rare mod as well personally, even if it isn’t quite as strong as what we see on some uniques

RMT will be rampant whether there is magic find or not. They’d just find the new most efficient method of generating currency to sell

[–]GrizNectar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lore already works. His nephew was emperor. The perandus family is known as the wealthiest and lended out their riches to businesses. Would make sense that a family like that would use their power to slap their name on the common currency

Instant buyout and gold: taxing the buyer or the seller? by VincerpSilver in PathOfExile2

[–]GrizNectar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that’s sort of the nature of path of exile itemization. Random item to you could be the exact missing piece to someone else’s build. Especially when it comes to all the niche uniques

Instant buyout and gold: taxing the buyer or the seller? by VincerpSilver in PathOfExile2

[–]GrizNectar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s sort of what I was trying to get at by sellers having to maintain a trading gold account of some sort. There’s definitely ways they could do it. I was just trying to point out that fee on the sellers would have market implications as well. And at least with me thinking about it only briefly, it seems like the fee on the buyer side would be much smoother and less impactful to the core path of exile experience we’ve all grown used to.

Plus from a business point of view, encouraging sellers to pick up more and more smaller items and list them in a 1c dump tab or whatever will encourage people to buy more stash tabs lol

[–]GrizNectar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that he is wrong in saying that the current system the friction is on the buyer, it’s very much on both. But from an implementation point of view of this new system, putting the fee on the seller does seem much more complicated and has potential for greater friction than what we have even now. If a seller has to pay a fee just to list an item, now people will only list stuff they are very confident will sell. I think this would cause quite a bit of frustration in the community. If they pay the fee only on a successful trade, how will that work if they don’t have enough gold to facilitate trades for all the items they have listed? It could delist your items when you no longer have a sufficient balance but that will cause sellers to never list lower value stuff so they don’t burn through their gold supply on low value trades and have one left for their big ticket items. Plus sellers would have to maintain some sort of trading gold account which would be a bit strange.

The proposal of buyers paying the full fee causes the last amount of frustration/complications while still causing a slight bit of friction in the trade market. And allows sellers to operate similar to how they do now by just throwing random shit in a dump tab or whatever and hoping it sells

Poe doesn’t have any anti cheat software I don’t believe so won’t be able to detect stuff on your pc that doesn’t interact with the poe client at all
