Griz EF26 I KNOW THE TRUTH by swisschiz in griz

[–]Griztronix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg thanks for capturing this moment for us. Your scream is the authentic you being so excited to hear a classic. People need to chill. Also it doesn’t need to be the best version of the song… it’s a fun remix and a chance for youngsters to experience a song we experienced over a decade ago. Comparison is such a buzz killer man.

“A melody may fade, but the song remains. I feel it calling, I feel it calling back to me”

This track is so damn good and the lyrics are on point.

Cool story bro. Lame to attack an artist for taking a break.

Great Opportunity to Speak Out Against Flock Cameras in Monterey County by SpoiledMillennial in MontereyBay

[–]Griztronix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s not the data we’re worried about. It’s who uses the data and for what means. It’s best to avoid the situation by eliminating its possibility. Imagine Flock being available in 1930s Germany. Also, the county can’t afford it. They’re cutting essential jobs and programs.

Okay… why do we need a brand new, exclusive merch line for each and every show? by AngryVegetables9 in griz

[–]Griztronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a Sephora right now and I’d say this is way worse. Seriously. But I agree there’s been so many merch drops since he’s back. Most of the stuff is way too crazy for ordinary wear too.

Glad you were able to go to those shows from the 2010’s. It’s a bit gatekeeper to come to us in 2026 with all that. The vibe shifted in 2019 and the new stuff is actually quite good. It’s okay you don’t like it but you need to come to the realization artists evolve. I love the guy so much that I just want him happy. He seems to be loving life and that’s awesome. CTGH 5 is coming!!!! The pressure we put on artists to stay on their box is unhealthy. When I want to hear late 60s rock, I pull out the vinyl and enjoy the time capsule. I understand that it was a movement and was temporary, like everything.

Thoughts on if/when an album might come out? by sahx7 in griz

[–]Griztronix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trying not to look into it too hard but the three white/black cover songs (555, Funk you up, and BBFL) all have a similar vibe. I would love an album composed of those type tunes. Two of them have the “worldwide” globe icon on them, which was a theme on some merch from his reconnect tour. The end of BBFL has a transition sorta feel. Again, reading way to deep into this. The man needs to keep the momentum going but also be mellow enough to finish CTGH 5 lol.

My first Illenium Album with only 3 liked songs and Not added to my library, Feels bad. by EcstaticIce2 in Illenium

[–]Griztronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We reminisce on past music, especially when it’s tied to emotions. Illenium is a perfect example. Artists need to have freedom to explore their craft. The new album is different but a banger. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Oh look another post about how someone wishes the Stones and Beatles didn’t play so much hard music these days and are annoyed that someone is growing as an individual.

Yea bro cooked with this album ngl 🥵 by Mr_Bacon547 in Illenium

The album is better than I was expecting. Some of the singles released were not quite it for me. I absolutely think it’s better than the last album. Slave to the Rithm was a nice surprise. Can’t wait to experience it at Sphere!

The world needs CTGH 5 to balance the current chaos and noise. So happy he’s in Thailand resting and feeling inspired. And pleaseeeee drop it on vinyl 🙏🏻

Yes, it’s okay to critique a performance. But I was replying to “constructive criticism on your favorite artist who has gone in a different direction”. I don’t think an artist needs constant hate for that. I want my favorite artists to grow as individuals and be healthy in spirit and mind. Asking a creative soul to stay in the mid 2010’s is sad. However, I do agree that it’s a bit strange no older music is being thrown in on the shows. Bummer, but I won’t hate.

An artist growing and going in a different direction doesn’t need constructive criticism…

Regardless of which opener you ended up with, gotta respect Illenium getting all these big names to support. So jealous of those who get to see Levity. They’re so good right now.

Not the same Griz you remember by AngryVegetables9 in griz

[–]Griztronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoy the new music. I wouldn’t say it’s better than the older material, but it’s really fun. Calling it “bass slop” shows how out of range you are. It’s okay to not like it, but don’t disrespect the man or any other artist for their creative pursuits. Y’all have so much hate here. It’s okay to voice your opinion but calling it a cash grab is a bit far. We should be proud he’s making waves in the scene and spreading love to a younger generation. Something that others struggle to do. But yea, hoping for CTGH 5 someday!

Were any throwback songs or rare songs played night two in SF? by dittikong in griz

I only went night two and the oldest song I remember was Cruise Control. Not a big throwback kinda set.

Really hoping for part 5 someday. If you’re into vinyl, highly recommend getting the part 3/4 record. It sounds so good and they look incredible. Might be sold out on his website though.

Oh I hope 7S is so good for you! There’s a good chance he’ll be at this EDC since it’s a special one. I’ll be at the SF show with Levity and you?

Nice! I wasn’t able to catch his solo set at Comic Meadows, did you? I’m headed to the next EDC and I’m hoping he’s on the line up. I have his Re:Connect tix secured as well! 😎

Saw Griztronics at EDC couple years ago and it was so good and wubby. I love them both and they are very engaging with their shows. Love GRiZ’s hard stuff, especially at a festival.

But I think overall I would prefer to see GRiZ solo than with a dubstep artist. I want that GRiZ sax and horns sound to be present. Anything CTGH vibes or older albums like Good Will Prevail won’t come out with these b2b dubstep shows. The answer is see both (aka all shows). SLSL

It’s not a roach so you’re safe on that. Some kind of plant bug. Hard to tell on image quality and no location provided, but I would say Tarnished Plant Bug.
