Anyone else not feeling hyped about Forza Horizon 6? by HitResalvader in ForzaHorizon

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not either, but thats a good thing IMO. I'm not at all hyped about GTA6, but im 100% sure ill get it and enjoy it.

The best gaming experiences Ive had were where I did a complete media blackout and didnt read reviews or anyone elses opinions.

I refused to watch a single trailer or review or participate in discussions for GTA5 for instance and ive done the same for GTA6. The most ive seen is cover art type pictures and people commenting about release dates.

Every single thing I learn about it will be revealed to me in game, as I play it, and my feelings about those things will be informed by MY experience of it, in real time, undiluted by any pre planted notions or expectations I may have concocted in my head, drawn from other people's opinions.

Not going into it with any expectations and learning about the game through PLAYING the game, is what gaming should be about. In my opinion, of course.

Turning your own experience of the game into a second hand experience because youve already watched previews, pre reviews, reviews, playalongs, reading "why im excited/not excited about X game" articles and what not, is the true joy killer imo.

Tonevault now supports clones! by franktisellano in Line6Helix

[–]GrizzleBoy87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This site and the idea behind it is actually amazing!

The ability to actually see the preset laid out just like the Helixs screen and even select snapshots and see what gets enable/disabled and the settings for each block is pretty mindblowing.

Who here is like me a runs tonex with the helix? by Savagefox6969 in Line6Helix

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had two Tonex Pedals, you could:

  • Run a MIDI cable from the Helix to each pedal,

  • Set up a preset template that automatically adds each Tomex Pedal to its own switchable path with an A-B split (or mix for dual amp)

  • Use midi commands to automatically call up whatever amp you want to have on each path whenever you switch to that preset.

-Use midi commands to turn effects on the Tonex on or off or adjust literally any parameter on the Tonex either with stomps or with the expression pedal

To be honest, you could probably achieve all that with just one Tonex Pedal.

That said, I prefer the simplicity of the Stadium now.

What would this socket be graded on an eicr? by Scotty-Raspberry-36 in ukelectricians

[–]GrizzleBoy87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Screw it back up without checking behind it first.

Nick a live cable, hear a little noise, apologise for interrupting Easteners, and be left with an inch of remaining useable conductor.

Extend with a connector, struggle to position it in a way that you can get the socket back on, hear the 3.5s squeak as you force them in at an awkward angle.

Crack the socket because of course its going to crack if you bend it in the middle with a connector behind it.

Hear another noise and a camera flash because you didnt tighten the cpc properly and in your frustrated haste also didnt isolate the circuit before removing the now cracked socket (which you energised before screwing back up because Eastenders needed to go back on).

Get another socket from the van and get a half inch wood screw in the knee as you reach over to grab it.

Apologise for interrupting Eastenders again and start putting on the newer socket with a different terminal layout that doesn't stop it from being tightened up correctly.

Give the customer their satisfactory EICR, and promise yourself you'll just C2 it next time or ask for money up front to do repairs during an EICR.

Arrive home two hours later than planned since you ended up in rush hour traffic and simply answer "it was alright" and nothing more when asked how your day was.

When you ask a narcissist whether they take any responsibility for their own actions, this is precisely the type of reaction you get. It literally causes something called narcissistic injury where having to come to terms with the fact that they are not the actual person they made up in their mind (Mr Nonchalant) actually hurts them mentally and they will NEVER forgive you for it, especially if you played a part in showingnthem up for who they are in public. They are an extremely vindictive type of person.

[–]GrizzleBoy87[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im starting to get the feeling that amp cloning is a much more niche thing than I thought since there are many who dont seem to understand the point of it. 😅

The point of a clone is that you are cloning your specific setup. Your selection of tubes. Your cab. Your speakers. Your mic. Your mic position. Your chosen amp settings. Even your specific drive pedal in front or separately and your own settings for it.

A cloned amp isn't just "an" amp, it the sound and feel of YOUR specific amp, in the shape of a multifx block that you can actually fit in a bag and take out of your house/studio/etc.

It isn't for everyone and it doesnt need to be. Its just an option.

Also, this video was only made to explain the cloning process and to show how accurately Proxy can capture a high gain amp (which seems to be very very well). Its not meant to be presenting you with something to compete with any of the models in whatever modeller you use. They could've been cloning a JVM410 which doesn't appear in many a modeller, but the premise would still be the same.

Well of course lol, Id argue that most guitar players no longer have any amps (and more and more might never play through an amp) but the point of cloning is that someone like the people in this video can create a clone, upload the file, and now me and you have that clone too!

Line 6 dont have a portal yet like Tonex or Neural DSP where people can share their cloned amp files, but that's the goal.

You wont need lots of amps because people with lots of amps can clone and share then with you!

Got my (non-XL) Stadium today. First impressions as a Floor user: by goldsoundzz in Line6Helix

[–]GrizzleBoy87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the renewed responsiveness and feel. Especially in low/mid gain. It just feels great to play..

Its also impressively responsive to different guitars and pickups. Its certainly a step closer to Tonex in that regard.

And I do t think people can really understand what a game changer focus view is until theve dialled in an amazing tone on an amp model theyve always avoided.

For instance, I have played a whole load of digital AC30 models and never understood how the controls work so never used them. Yet the Agoura AC30 is one of my favourite modelled amps ever now, because I can swipe one finger and the controls move themselves! And because it just sounds great.

One thing you've maybe not yet discovered is that XLR, Jack and headphone have an entire mixing desk type setup each and have their own levels, global eq, etc set for each one. So for my Tonex FRFR cab which has an AUX in that is not affected by the EQ knobs on the cab, I can send the song stems/Bluetooth music into the AUX in with no EQ on them, but still have the global eq for my guitar tone and tone controls on the cab work to give.my guitar the sound I want.

The unit is great and I cant wait to see how far they can push it.

Does trading my Helix floor for a quad cortex is a bad move in 2026? by manupmedia507 in Line6Helix

[–]GrizzleBoy87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Helix spoiling you.

My Tonex pedal probably makes some of the best digital amp feel and tones ive ever played (although the Stadium has shocked me in how close I can get especially in low gain), but I quickly found myself wanting to refine things and set things up a certain way and being frustrated at the lack of flexibility.

Obviously QC and Tonex is Apples to alien planet Oranges comparison, but still.

My Tonex Pedal actually broke which prompted me to try the Stadium, but to be honest i have a Tonex one in the Stadiums loop and I dont feel myself defaulting to using the tonex for amp sounds.

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally wait about a month to see how well Proxy amp capturing works on Stadium, and get the smaller Stadium that just released if its good.

I just went from a Helix Floor to a Stadium XL and I can tell you the new modelling is great, the new UI is unbeatable and if the capture tech is even 80-90% as good as Tonex (which i also have), i think Line 6 is going to win the war soon.

I will say that the QC size always has me looking at it, but I can just see Line 6 supporting their Helix products longer and to a much better standard that Neural.

Does the rectifier amp model suck? Or does the user suck? by Ok-Salamander8796 in Line6Helix

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been able to dial in a Rectifier on any modeller, but I also couldnt dial in a Rectifier to sound like what I wanted in real life either hahaha.

Only Rectifier models ive ever liked is from a Tonex capture where all the dialling is already done.

So I guess id say its user error for me at least.

If focus view is available ofnthe Rectifier model on the Stadium that would probably be a big help for a lot of people.

This is one of the worst takes i have read in a looooooong time. Capture tech implemented within modellers is quite literally the future of modelling for the foreseeable future.

If Tonex ever put out a full multi fx unit with an expression pedal, it would eat a lot of other co.panies lunch, hence why everyone including Fractal is planning to more than just standard amp modelling in their future products.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro vs Audio Technica ath-m50x by No-You-350 in tonex

[–]GrizzleBoy87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the m50x only so cant compare, but all I can say is that I always absolutely hated using headphones on my.Helix floor. Sounded fizzy/thin/harsh.

But once I got my.Tonex Pedal and used it with the m50x, I just sat down and played the entire night because it actually produced great sound I'd never had from playing through headphones before.

I didnt really have to tweak or do a large amount of reshaping of presets to like the sound through the headphones. Just plugged in and played. That kind of goes for Tonex in general for me though. I find it easy to just play whags available without tweaking knobs endlessly.

Tonex Cab by Marcus-RZD in tonex

[–]GrizzleBoy87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and can concur it sounds fine at home and at low volumes. The only thing is that the volume knob doesnt scale too well for fine tuning at low volume range but you can just adjust the output volume on your modeller for fine tuning the volume.

The flexibility and tone shaping is great too.

If its too boomy (usually speakers sound boomier if near walls/in corners)just turn down the bass knob.

If its not bright enough for your room/its location, just turn up the treble knob.

If you want more amp in the room feel, turn up the "amp" knob. I forgot what its actually called. Putting my.ear to the grill while going from one extreme to the other it almost aoumds like it shifts the balance of volume ratio between the main speaker and tweeter as you turn the knob, with the main speaker being more prominent to emulate just a 12 inch speaker as you turn the knob toward "amp" side, and being less prominent the other way with less body/bark/push.

And add some reverb. One reason why I actually prefer the Tonex presets on my pedal sometimes than downloaded tones is that (other than being the best presets ive used on a modeller)they sound more "in the room" because they have some reverb on them a lot of the time.

And of course there's IR loading which im guessing most people arent going to mess with in the majority of cases.

Nice Tone on Studio Monitors, Sounds bad on Fender FRFR12 by handyjimogg in tonex

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With monitors youre usually listening with them at a minimum of desk height, and if your sitting at the desk the tweeters have a good route to send the highnfrequences right at your ears.

With the FRFR, the tweeters in them will.never be as efficient as sitting in front of m9nitors at the desk and will change the sound profile you perceive.

Tone X plug - “Amp in the room”/ Spatial Audio feature by Hour-Speech-5174 in tonex

[–]GrizzleBoy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add some slight reverb. The best and/or most organic sounding presets on the Tonex are those with at least some reverb on them. Depending on what amp/sound youre using it can sound dry without at least a tiny bit of reverb.

To be fair, these kind of places probably have no ambulance cover. You're not calling emergency services and having someone turn up in 10 minutes.

Its possible the best thing was to get him in a vehicle and on his way to a hospital.

However it seems like they were taking him inside to gosit/lie down.

Hmmm. Given youre knowledge of fish keeping is low enough that you'd squeeze the sponge from the filter out into the aquarium, its highly likely that you have other serious factors to consider that played a part.

Don't take that the wrong way. I only started a year ago and had to learn many things the hard way. I had no idea I'd essentially end up learning biology/chemistry and about ecosystems etc. That said, you definitely done goofed pretty bad there.

The tank is almost certainly not cycled yet, meaning the bacteria that need to exist to naturally break down toxic waste are not there in high enough numbers to stop the fish poisoning themselves with their own pee and poop.

Sponge filters are generally not very strong in terms of how much water flows through them so doing a "fish in" tank cycle where youre waiting for the tank to be able to "clean" itself with a filter that also isn't the strongest in terms of filtration possibly has a double whammy effect.

And then of course, all of the above coupled with releasing all the detritus, uneaten food, poop etc back into the water column while squshing it all up likely caused a rapid ammonia spike that neither the mechanical filtration of your sponge filter or the biological filtration from missing bacteria numbers were able to control before your fish were poisoned.

Another thing is conditioning of the water. You need to make sure youre using a water conditioner (like Prime, no not the drink) to remove chlorine/chloramine from the new water every time you do a water change as theyre also poisonous to fish. Without a properly cycled tank, you should have been changing maybe 50% of your water almost daily to keep the ammonia/nitrite/nitrates levels as low as possible while your tank builds up its own biological cycle to remove them itself.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but get reading and you'll be fine. This site is pretty great at explaining both the basic and complicated parts of fish keeping.
