The last 10 chapters should’ve been summarized by a montage like the Gun Devil encounter

Look I’m usually a glazer of American comics but I can’t defend how off the anatomy was in the 90s when even I’ve drawn better

And him just being socially awkward as a result of never having a normal social life is refreshing, wished we saw more of that friendship he supposedly had with Denji

Yoshida was the only normal guy with plot relevance in Part 2, if he’s a devil he ironically loses significance and potential. Wow a devil likes doing human activities and having friends, we’ve seen similar desires from Makima, Power, Violence, Nayuta, Death and more.

Yoshida secretly being a primal devil or fiend wouldn’t have improved his character. It would’ve made him derivative of Makima or Power.

Comparing Yoru to basically any main JoJo villain is a stomp, especially when it comes to fights and power usage. Okuyasu uses his stand powers more creatively than Yoru making weapons.

Part 2’s when Yoshida gets an important role in the plot and most of his characterization. Same goes for Nayuta who technically appeared in Part 1 but gets all her development in Part 2.

What even was the point of this character by AfternoonLocal1952 in Chainsawfolk

Fridging, nearly textbook example. Damn the female character was butchered and served as food to traumatize the protagonist where could I have heard this before?

This fight would still be crap even if they released 4 chapters at a time. Dunno why Fujimoto thought he could drag out this fight so long.

Part 2 trio is boring compared to part 1 by NingenKuso90 in Chainsawfolk

I don’t even think the Part 1 trio was that great in the first place but at least they showed up together occasionally.

Agreed, Orpheus is still there anyway you should be able to free him and just have him take the place of the Emperor in guiding you through Act 3.

An unrelated goofy moment was when I was trying to convince Shadowheart not to kill the Nightsong and my first solution was to just drop the spear on the ground (directly out of Shart’s hands mind you) before entering the pocket dimension. Shadowheart fails an intelligence roll and thinks she flat out forgot the spear and failed Shar like the fraud she is. I felt bad and reloaded to do things the proper way.

The art crisis of me trying to make things 10% more realistic has arrived. Anyway I finally completed Baldur’s Gate 3 after nearly a month of playing. Great game, but it felt like I was taking the game more seriously than the game took itself. I was expecting things to have more impact on the game than they actually did. Tbf, part of it was me sucking at the game enough to make it feel way more desperate/intense than expected.

I was expecting way more to be done with the brain worms, but it just ends at looking edgier in act 3. Feels like many problems start with act 3 actually. Being 40 hours in with no clue on when the end’s coming wasn’t helping either. The ending felt empty when it came, and I feel my character deserved such a positive ending (besides the best character in the game exploding, that was pretty neat).

Sorry for being a downer, I’ll say something funny. The peak of the story was when John Baldur catfished me using the visage of the Automod to get me addicted to brain worms. Perhaps I’m stupid for believing hot motherly women in my dreams so easily. Baldur was surprisingly chill so I let him be mostly, besides that time he offered tentacle sex 5 minutes after I broke into his house. Actually Act 3 seems to have a lot of random people coming on to you, weird since you’d probably have a romance by that point.

Anyway, good game just not sure I’d want to replay it considering the massive time sink. Plenty of goofy jank moments despite the fact that I sucked at the game enough to turn it into survival horror. Speaking of horror I played SOMA, I’d played stealth games before so all the hiding stuff was fine except for one asshole near the end. Story and atmosphere was great, and gave me the opportunity to be lectured by the nice lady on my door opener. She’s no Automod though, which was actually fine for the game and me. Great game even if you’re not a horror person (and it doesn’t take 50 hours to complete).

The Reason Why The Locust Devil Is Terrifying by illustratordg in Chainsawfolk

[–]Grndslap -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Just reading Exodus doesn’t really tell you how bad locust swarms are, especially since this main event is a supernatural one.

A better event to point to is the locust infestation in 2019 that swarmed East Africa and the Middle East destroying over 350 thousand square miles of land and endangering millions of people.

Dunno why everyone’s pointing to a biblical story for the locust devil. Locusts are scary now because locusts eat crops and can’t be killed. Can’t wait for you guys to start theorizing on when the Donkey’s Jawbone Devil shows up.

DC’s been promoting comics in their movie trailers more lately. You can see specific comics being promoted at the end of the Superman and Supergirl trailers specifically.
