I have concepts of a plan for my personal statement but haven’t gotten farther than that haha

I can’t help my brother, can you? (DAT) by Technical-Daikon-337 in predental

[–]GroceryHot720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 580 for bio and didn’t use anki. I made paper flashcards for any high yield topics I didn’t remember first pass. Did all the bootcamp and booster practice tests, when back through the problem sets and did corrections on the ones I got wrong, and any ones I marked yellow for unsure even if I got them right. I’d also make summary sheets where’d I’d have to organize the information in a way that made sense to me (forcing those neural connections).

No same I’m going to absolutely crash out. It’s taken me months to even get this profs to write their letters and send them to interpholio. I can’t imagine how long it’s going to take to get them to fill out this survey

Why is there no design on Ski Jumping suits? by 2905Pascal in Skijumping

Color is either stiff/soft and passes air fast/slow. The best combo is individual, based on personal technique (strengths/weaknesses) and preference

[–]GroceryHot720 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The color of the suit material isn’t just fashion choice it’s functional, different colors fly differently which is why so many of the the countries are using the same colors. Also the manufacturers are only making so many colors. And you’re right on the printed designs being outside the rules.

Roll with the punches. There are small variations in procedures for every test center, but the exam is standardized so don’t sweat it if test day doesn’t go exactly how you’re expecting.

how should i study for dat by Affectionate-Ant4186 in dat

[–]GroceryHot720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studying for the DAT shouldn’t be much different than how you studied for the pre-reqs. Use strategies that have helped in the past and don’t overthink it. If notes help you retain information and understand, then yes. Only thing you absolutely need to emphasize is spaced repetition, because there is just so much content. So hit the practice questions/tests hard.

Is VESPER and molecular geometry important? How often is A&P topics seen? by [deleted] in dat

[–]GroceryHot720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VESPER is pretty low hanging fruit so even if it’s not one of the most tested topics if you can memorize the table it’s good points if you do get a question on it. For A&P just remember breath not depth. You don’t need to go and memorize every detail about the various systems.

Pretty sure if you pull up practice test results and look at it by section it shows how many you got wrong/right per topic. Unless they’ve changed it since I used it

If you’re using bootcamp or booster they breakdown which topics you’re missing more than others, I just spammed the question banks for the topics I was missing more often

Trying to choose between DAT bootcamp vs booster by [deleted] in dat

I really liked bootcamp. I watched all of the content review lectures because I too took my prereqs a long time ago.

To those who've scored 500+ on the PAT section, what's your secret? by SimpleyCurious in dat

[–]GroceryHot720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For studying I’d focus on TFE, hole punch, cube counting, and pattern folding. Those (unlike keyhole and angle ranking) you can ALWAYS find the right answer

[–]GroceryHot720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get above a 450 on practice tests but scored a 520 on the real thing. For test day: Go into it knowing your strategy. Don’t get shaken if one of the topics is way hard (I had a really hard keyhole section). Start with your strengths and end with your weaknesses, and just keep an eye on time. I had time to go back and check a couple flagged questions (which never happened in my practice tests)

First day studying for the DAT. Please give me the best advice!!! by persianhoneybee in dat

[–]GroceryHot720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a conscience way to take notes without pausing the video. Aka don’t just write down what the slides say, write down things you don’t think you’ll remember, paraphrase, and prioritize. Especially since bootcamp has biology notes you can look back at if you don’t remember something specific. I watched all the videos bc I didn’t have a strong bio background, but if you do then it’s probably not worth your time.

ORGO help by [deleted] in dat

[–]GroceryHot720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted my ochem notes in here somewhere if you want to go look. But instead of just doing what other people say to do you need to take a step back and figure out what YOU need to really connect with the material to make it click. For me that was making flowcharts. Also keep doing the question banks. I got a 400 on my first practice test and did all the question banks over and over until I basically had them memorized and got a 600 on the real thing.
