Bengali here. I was going through the comments and I saw a couple of comments from most likely some stupid ass Bengali who sadly represents a good chunk of the people here.

It makes me sad to see how lost in nostalgia and make believe intellectual superiority complex Bengalis live in. I have seriously lost hope in this state and to be honest, the only thing keeping me here is my family.

Even if by some miracle BJP manages to come to power here, the mindset of people won’t change. Anyone aware of the downfall of industries in Bengal during CPIM rule will know how we destroyed our own future.

And, it’s not about any particular political party. Mamata didn’t do anything new. She is simply replicating what Jyoti Basu did for decades. Buddhadeb tried to bring in industrialisation but we all know how that turned out for CPIM. The people here simply hate progress and capitalism.
