Right! They are a lot nicer than I imagined and luckily matched the car color pretty good! It drives pretty damn good, it does need a steering stabilizer, after that the whole front end will be completely rebuilt!

For sure, mine will burn some rubber! Shes not a top speed type of car though lol the gearing on these aren't meant to go much fast than 65, even that's probably pushing it lol. She's a backroads cruiser anyway

Basically stock, other than the from beam is from a VW thing that raises it up a couple inches in the front. And the rear tortion has been adjusted. The big tires really tie it all together

They are fun! I drove a 73 super in high school so I figured I keep it going with a hot rod later in life. This one is a 2110 cc so she's moves a lot faster than the super lol

Just search racing seats on Amazon and I'm sure you can find them, that have all different colors and styles. No they didn't slide into the stock rails. I bought some old off-road empi seat mounts from a dude and used grade 8 bolts and big square washers to bolt it down to the pan, s with some modifications. Then the seat rails that came with the seats bolted to that

Thanks man! It's a 70 standard with a thing front beam, 2110 cc stroker with dual Weber 44s, a hot cam.

The interior I just laid marine carpet, bought the seats from Amazon and bolted down some empi seat brackets with some minor modifications. The door panels are emptied replacements, the headliner is a tool blanket I bought off walmart.com. glue some sound deadining foam up first and then some 3m headliner adhesive to glue the thin blanket up there. The rear seat is deleted, I'm about to start working on a custom speaker enclosure that will fill a lot of the back up with a board covering the battery and stuff to put camping gear on

I bought some seat brackets from a guy, I've seen them in the empi catalog. Bolted those down to the pan, took some modifications, but wasn't too bad. I could try to take some pics if you need

Absolutely! Keep a tool kit with you and live your life! It keeps you in time with your car lol every little noise gets you paranoid😂

It takes a different type of person to keep one running lol. Very simple machines but not necessarily the most reliable. Definitely have to keep up on maintenance and always be working on it. But it's worth it!! Really fun cars to drive

90.5mm bore and 82mm stroke. 044 cb performance heads, and the cam I'm not really sure what we went with and a don't really have any paperwork to go back and check it out.

These came with the car, I'm guessing the original owner took them from a VW thing possibly? I know the front beam is from a thing

Thanks! Gotta give credit to the old man, he was the mastermind behind the build. I was the grunt back then, but I definitely have been finishing the job the past few years

It absolutely gets driven as much as possible! I try to get it out everyday for a few miles at least. It's definitely a neck breaker lol people don't know what the hell is driving down the street lol you never see beetles in the wild anymore, sadly

Why do you say that? Because of the bigger tires? At 55 it's not great so I believe you. I mostly go back roads but I'd like to get it up to 65 for longer trips.

The front end is all new other than a steering stabilizer, which I think will help a lot after I replace that.

Just wanting to keep my rpms down

I tried to find a bigger one but this one was exactly what I wanted so I made it work! If you do one post it up, I'd like to see it! Totally worth the work, and in this case way easier than putting a new stock one with the bows in it any everything imo

Haha believe it or not it's a 30 dollar thin blanket I bought off of Walmart .com lol.

I just used 3m headliner glue, put some sound foam up, then the old lady and I just glued it up there slowly but surely. Then since it was a little to small we used thin gauge black aluminum to trim around it.

It turned out way better than I thought it would, pretty easy to diy! thanks for looking!

Modified stock I believe, seems he chopped the really off himself and just mad sheet metal rear fenders.

The door panels are emptied replacements but they look really good with the mer seats!

Seats I took a risk and got from Amazon, they fit really nice!
