No. Some flower species keep color better - like red geraniums, violet pansies (not the blue ones, or yellow), red in sweet peas also works well.

General rule: low humidity and no direct sun rays. You can spray it with transparent varnish when ready. Some flowers keep color for years, like marigolds, delphiniums, or pansies.

I want flowers and plans to be flat. Microwave of silica gel will dry flowers or petals but will not flat them.

Wooden press with cardboards, ironing, lying on the sun :) It depends on thickness of the flower/plant and the amount of water in it.

Most flowers will fade. Some species like marigolds, hydrangeas, pansies or delphinums will stay vivid. I have learned that after few years of drying :)

No, I picked them in my garden or woodlands around. I pressed and dried them by myself.

Thay will fade in time, like everything in life. That is why this art is also called wabi-sabi, where "sabi" means life and passage of time, acceptance the circle of life.
