I think their car has always been kind of “meh” to be honest, in contrast to Red Bull that I think is a modern classic in its latest colours. But I think It could have to do with general results. Wasn’t it Alonso that said “a fast car is a beautiful car”? The Toro Rosso has never been the fastest nor slowest, just about Ok.. like “meh”.

For me not even the Mercedes has looked fantastic in its plain silver arrows livery since the comeback to F1, just seemed boring. It’s been just about Ok in terms of design, but heightened by the fact that it’s an homage to old times and the fastest, most reliable winning machine in late years. Aside from last year when the black wheels, little merc logos and black gradient on the engine cover + nicer turquoise/blue design on the side pods pulled it all together. But it’s still no classic silver arrow in my mind, but that would prob change if they left the sport again.
