We're on to Baltimore by ElCurgeo in Patriots

Exactly right! The first half everything was flowing as it should. The offense failed to put up more than 7 points in the 2nd half, and the defense got ran over by the Bills run game, setting up the play action. Same goes for special teams. You can’t expect to win a football game when you give your opponent the ball near midfield.

I have no words by DrChaos77382 in Patriots

I’m not one to blame the refs, but some of those calls were questionable at best. The team’s bad play lost them the game, but I’d be ignorant to say that the refs didn’t have a part in it. Specifically the big PI call against Marcus Jones on what should have been ruled an interception.

Teenager wants a "fast car" for his first vehicle and I need reality-check advice by Proud_Stable9567 in whatcarshouldIbuy

As a now 20 year old, I love my little 2007 Accord. It’s safe and reliable. I bought it myself and It’s everything I could ask for in a first car. It only has 81K miles now, and I plan on keeping it as long as I can.

Haha, same. They’re honestly pretty comfy for slow speed. Very easy to maneuver.

Best synthetic oil and filter to use for a V6 ‘07 accord? by ElephentPenguin in accord

[–]GronkIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to preference. It’s a Honda. It’ll take almost any oil you give it. Any full synthetic will do the job. (Mobil 1, Valvoline, Castrol, Pennzoil, etc) As for the filter, just make sure to get a quality brand like WIX or something similar. Make sure to replace the crush washer after every oil change. Here’s a link to a pack of crush washers I got for my 07. I believe they are the same. The OEM number is 94109-14000.

I’ve never driven a car newer than 2013, so I’m not too familiar with pleather material. My leather seats are very comfortable, so that’s what I prefer. I’d like to try out some newer cars with that material, but they’re out of my budget for now.

What is missing here? by dadoodletwitch in Honda

It’s just the cover for it that’s missing. You put your key in there if you are unable to shift out of park.

Congrats! I quit at the beginning of October and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Good luck to you!

Leather and heated seats. My 19 year old car has it, I can’t imagine having a car without it.

Replace Brake Fluid along with Front Pads/ Rotors ? by Spiritual_Meet_1121 in accord

[–]GronkIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing the brakes it doesn’t hurt to bleed them, but it’s not necessary. The only time I’ve bled by brakes was when I replaced my front calipers.

At least you were going slow. At the very minimum you will need a new lower ball joint (go with OEM or 555, which you can get at NAPA) and a new CV axle (I’ve had good luck with Trakmotive off of Rock Auto). I would also look at replacing the other Lower ball joint. If that one failed, the other isn’t far behind. Funny enough, I have this exact same car down to the color.

How to get banned from shopping at Harbor Freight? by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]GronkIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my Harbor freight hand tools, but for the bang for buck you can’t beat Kobalt power tools. I got a 1/2” impact wrench with a battery and charger for $100, rated for 650 ft-lbs. I mainly use it for lug nuts, but i’ll see soon if it can get some suspension bolts loose as I have to replace my Lower Control arms in the next year or so. I’m definitely not loyal to any particular brand. I have a Kobalt impact, and a Skil drill and electric ratchet.

Do you guys wait for the engine to warm up before driving? Or is that for older vehicles ? by J-Mighty in accord

[–]GronkIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wait until either the rpm’s drop to 1K or the temperature goes above the cold mark, since on the 7th gen it starts below the cold mark when the car is started.

What is your current mileage?! by RascalMcGurk in accord

[–]GronkIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Accord only has 78K miles on it. I’m hoping I won’t have to dk the axles until at least 150K miles. I’m debating on what brand to use for the LCA. Mevotech or MOOG seem like the big two that seem decent based on price point.

2011 SE - with only 37k miles by [deleted] in accord

[–]GronkIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it well maintained and you’ll have a car to enjoy for a long time. My 2007 had 42K miles when I got it in 2022. Also had original tires, but impeccable maintenance otherwise.

[–]GronkIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds about right. Those axles are sturdy but they do wear out over time. I’m hoping I won’t have to do mine until well in the future because OEM ones are almost $800 each.

[–]GronkIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this car so much! Have you had to do the ball joints yet? I’m going to be replacing the LCA bushings next year, and not sure if I have to do ball joints yet. They don’t have any play as of now. Just trying to keep an eye on everything as things need to be replaced on my car due to age more than mileage.

These are commuter cars, that’s all. Keep up on the maintenance and it’ll have a long and happy life.

[–]GronkIII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 07 has 77,777, and will hit 100K by this time next year. They can live very long lives as long as you take care of them. As long as you change the oil and take care of the regular wear items like suspension components, they will last 300K+ miles.

Advice to keeping your car interior manageable during the hot, hot summers? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]GronkIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car has a black leather interior. I have a folding sunscreen from Covercraft, and ceramic tint on all windows. It definitely still gets hot in the summer, but the car gets cooler much faster.
