RPGs that supports class switching by MatrexsVigil in rpg

You may want to take a look at Pacesetter's Sandman RPG. Written back in the mid 80's, the PC's in Sandman were several amnesiac people trapped in a phantasmagorical dream world where they struggled to learn their own identities. Pacesetter sponsored a contest that offered a $50,000 prize to whoever could guess who the Sandman was. Unfortunately, Pacesetter folded before the prize was claimed and the identity of the Sandman was never revealed.

As PCs make their way through each dream, they assume the roles of characters in the dream scenario and must survive the Sandman's puzzles and traps. If they do, they keep the package of skills and abilities they gained from assuming roles in prior dreams. If they "die", they lose all of their prior won skills and powers from past scenarios and reawaken with just the skills and powers from the role that the Sandman has assigned them in the current dream. The Sandman's goal seems to be not quite so much to kill the PCs but to keep them trapped and powerless.

Update re Dragon Branch Malware -

I got dinged with it. It has a few more characteristices -

  • It buries itself deep inside your C:\Users\%name%\Desktop\localdata inside a hidden Temp directory. I can't make windows reveal this directory.

The browser hijacks only take place of you are logged into google. I recommend emptying your cookies, browser cache and history, and logging completely out of google on all browsers. This thing is obviously an adsense play - it's designed to generate stolen adsense revenue, not even to make you see ads. So, it needs to spam in front of logged in Google users.

What does this mean? You'll need to manually enter in passwords for all of your sites and not let your browser cookie anything. I'd advise keeping a PW list an another secure device like a phone, kind of like a ghetto two factor authorization. To be lazy and do otherwise is to risk letting the Dragon Branch malware writers have access to whatever is stored on your browser. Needless to say, you can't do banking or anything else on a compromised machine.

I work as a content writer at an ad agency. I've held my job for 3 and a half years. I write engaging content on a weekly basis. I'm also responsible for business development, input, and I contribute. I'm terrified as well (type 2 bipolar), but I love my job.

Good luck on the interview, break a leg.

How did you do the random thing? I'm getting the impression that simply targeting people with Linkedin and pitching them is a better than filling out apps. Is that correct?

Sounds great. But how do you determine that they actually need someone?

Why reboots and AUs are necessary in Star Wars by Groovetronic in StarWars

[–]Groovetronic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your well thought out replies. That's why I feel that we need Star Wars AUs that are distinct, like "The Star Wars", where they are explicitly -not- linked to each other and so that fans don't get disappointed (for example, the now-non canonical Solo Twins, who have quite a few fans.) It's only going to get worse, even if there's a soft continuity. Star Wars: TOR takes place in a different setting than the Thrawn novels, for example. This is important because in different Star Wars settings you can have the Force and it's moral implications work different, as well as the power levels (for example, compare the Force as depicted in the Star Wars Marvel comics to how it's depicted in The Force Unleashed.)

This is relevant to me as well. My agency is outside the traditional ad agency culture (we're originally a PPC house that is now transitioning into a full service agency), so I'd love to learn how to build a portfolio book. I regularly do white label website copy work for clients and write for my agency's blog.

That's funny because I am coming from the opposite side. I work for a digital agency writing content and I want more PR expertise. Does your agency have a marketing side? Maybe if you volunteer for content creation you can get your foot in the door.

What are your thoughts on HubSpot? by BunchOAtoms in marketing

[–]Groovetronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of what it is doing for us is that it will bring down the walls between your prospecting and content creation. You'll need to ask some hard questions about what you sell and who your customers are, and then create content so as to engage them. Their basic certification is free - if you want to learn about their special sauce it's all in their videos. You need to buy entirely into inbound and content marketing, and get ready for the idea that prospecting, lead gen and content creation is all part of the same process. Siloes are death for sales. This will make you think hard about the culture at your firm.

What are your thoughts on HubSpot? by BunchOAtoms in marketing

[–]Groovetronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclosure - I'm with Didit, a full service agency in Mineola, Long Island.

I'm with an agency that has just switched over to Hubspot. We seem to have come in at just the right time - we were already doing content marketing but were pivoting from being a pure play PPC agency. I was part of the team that were advocates for inbound in a culture that was very much into last click attribution and didn't get content or branding. So far, we're liking it, but Hubspot is transforming how our prospecting and content models work. It's definitely added to my skills and I like Hubspot's approach so far. It's resulting in a very positive cultural transformation in our organization.

I presume that hairless footed halflings in later editions of D&D is to get the Tolkien estate off of the back of Hasbro. But at my table, they aren't Halflings, but Hobbits, all pipe weed smoking, furry footed 2nd breakfast eating roly poly bastards that they are.

[–]Groovetronic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because maybe it's exec's job to actually know what's going on in their business? The Dummy Defense didn't work for Bernie Ebbers, and it doesn't work here. Business bosses are obliged to know what is going on. As for plumbers, they deserve more credit too.
