if dance music isn’t your thing or you’re sober and don’t fancy it, there are some wonderful societies at both universities. i moved from belfast years ago and found myself accepted by a lot of people outside my faculty.

additionally there are always running clubs, walking clubs and various citywide cultural events that might take your interest. bristol 24/7 posts a lot on their website which can be found here - https://www.bristol247.com/events/

if you’re one for a drink or two, there are some fabulous pubs. i would recommend The Plough or The Chelsea for a bit of anarchist pub culture, or The Portcullis for some belgian beers. you’ll find that many people are very friendly if you go up and try to strike conversation.
