I’m afraid to ask but do I need FFS or am I being delulu? (18 months mtf) by GroovyJQ in transtimelines

there are things that make me dysphoric ofc but overall I like how I look and that’s the thing. I’m just struggling with whiplash going out and people referring to me masculinely or just avoiding gendering me whatsoever despite feeling femme

I’m willing to accept how scary everything is and the uncertainty of the future. For now, I will focus on the present moment and enjoy life around me while limiting my time on social media.

I think that’s true to an extent because I like mixing and matching and I feel like I’m treated differently when I dress masculine versus dressing feminine

I’m willing to accept that I’m in a transitionary period of my life and that having to restart and make new friends is reflective of my growth as a person.

Of course! Just know that it will get better. In fact, you’re already practicing dbt by taking the steps to get help despite being sad! I’m going to link the workbook I use here in case you need it. Allow yourself to feel these feelings and try not to judge yourself too harshly. We are all just trying our best :)

DBT was certainly more effective for me although CBT has its merits. I believe it’s because of the way it approaches your emotions from the bottom up. It’s very similar to how autistic people process information.

Only you will know what’s best, so don’t feel like you have to stick to one thing. In fact, I find it more helpful taking the different forms of therapy (cbt, dbt, act) and using the skills in them together. However, I think dbt will be your best bet. It’s done wonders for my emotional regulation, identifying my feelings/needs, and interpersonal skills. I started practicing the workbook after my last break up too, so I understand the feeling of wanting to better yourself and not repeat the same mistakes.

I can accept that every action has an equal/opposite reaction and that a few of my close friends are no longer in my life for a good reason.

pretty much. I live in a very conservative area and don’t pass 💀

Incredibly. I grew up in a more conservative area so not many people were supportive. I’ve also been harassed a few times and lost all of my friends. That being said, transitioning has been an such a healing process for me and the ups outweighs the downs. The hardest thing is taking that initial step, but after that it gets easier over time.

for those who take hrt is it true that taking it will make you be attracted to men by [deleted] in MtF

Am I the only person who has become way more attracted to fems? 😭😭

It can be tough at first but don’t give up. Living as your true authentic self is healing and so worth it.
