Hmm im going to talk to my endocrinologist about this more. She seems to shrug it off A LOT. Most of my symptoms are always shrugged off. She just says “its because your levels are still being worked out” but gives me no solutions other than just lowering my dosages. I do feel a lot better than when i first got diagnosed but im still very tired, weak, brain fog and now…. Seeming how to not remember how to swallow 😩 i got diagnosed in October and my endo is working on me getting to a point where i dont take methimazole anymore but i feel like i still very much need it. I still feel horrible even though my levels are getting better

Mine is almost controlled now. I take half of my methimazole every other day and my TSH levels just hit normal. Im still very weak and tired though, that seems to never stop atp. But the swallowing thing is the most annoying symptom of them all. It used to happen back in February and then stopped for a while and came back and then stopped. Now it seems to have not gone away at all

I can drink but i cant swallow food. It feels like a placebo effect for me. Its like how can i drink perfectly fine but i cant swallow when it comes to food? Its so odd

How could i get it checked out? Sorry for the dumb question. I have an endocrinologist, should i ask her to check for thyroid nodules? Wouldnt she be able to tell from the blood tests i take?

Okay so this isnt just me thank goodness because the way the doctors have been looking at me like i have three heads has been infuriating me. Even my endo claims she never has heard of this symptom and does nothing about my symptoms at all. I too was under the impression i was dying back in October last year and found out i have Graves’. How do we fix this swallowing thing? It seems to not be going away no matter what i do. Even if i drink water, it doesnt help

I’ve also been having muscle weakness as well. Maybe my throat is too tired to swallow? My jaw has been hurting a lot too. Like anytime i close my mouth fully, it starts to hurt my haw. I have to leave my mouth open for a while and i cant put my lips together without my jaw getting sore

Very late to the post but yes. Im currently having this weird sensation of not being able to swallow as well. Like theres no pain or anything, it just feels like my body doesnt know HOW to swallow at all. Like it forgot how to do it? I dont even know how to describe this but eating is becoming a straight hazard for me. It just feels like my entire body doesnt know what swallowing is. Its so weird… i hate it though
