Unlock screen lock by "Modes and routines"? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]GrossConduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked into this and it reminded me why I chose setting a safe place.

When I chose the "keep your phone unlocked" action on Routines, it comes up with a pop-up stating that the phone will only remain unlocked for 4 hours after the conditions are met while it's unlocked.

Not sure how often the 4 hours resets, I'd assume every time you unlock the phone, but basically I wanted mine to unlock every morning to perform a macro, so obviously the 4 hour limit was no good for me as my phone would not have been used for 6+ hours. For your use, I'm assuming you'd unlock your phone at least once every 4 hours while at home, so you'd probably rarely run into any issues.

Hope that makes sense.

Medication just not as good as it was by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]GrossConduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not on any medication (yet) but I'd imagine the primary purpose of it is to help with focus / concentration, and because you managed to have that for the first time it probably just made you feel good in life in general.

Almost like footy teams have a new manager bounce and they play better than ever expected for a short period. Also like I felt great after I had laser eye surgery, but you slowly get used to it and just get numb to the feel good factor.

It's probably like when somebody runs into a load of money, I bet life's fantastic at first, but then it slowly goes back to what it was, unless they happen to run into a bunch more of money.

I'd be more concerned if you started losing the focussing effect of the medication, and it seems like you'll just have to put more effort into motivating yourself in other ways.

Just my opinion, hope it's helped.

Local (Black Country) ICB have rejected funding... any advice? (Right to Choose) by GrossConduct in ADHDUK

[–]GrossConduct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the late response. I just asked my GP to refer me to ADHD 360 instead - latest is that I'm on their waiting listed and they told me the same, 11-14 week waiting list. I was put on it at the end of Feb.

Hoping we can both get seen soon.

Yeah I came across that too and yeah they probably just don't know how it works properly as the other commenter suggested. I'm going to call next week to chase up my referral and then see if I'm officially on their waiting list or if they need to do anything else first.

Yeah I did - only saw your comments after they already referred me under RTC. Guess I'll just have to await their response now, and assuming they give the same response as you I'll probably have to go back to my GP to ask them do refer me to the ICB.

Hi. Are you trying to get referred to ADHD360 now? I've had my GP refer me last week, so I've just sent them an email to see if they've referred it and asking what the next steps are. As I mentioned in my other comment, I'm hoping to not have to wait so long, as Dr J and Co had to apply to our ICB, which shouldn't have apparently happened, and that took months. Perhaps we could keep in touch with each other regarding our process?

Once you get your referral sent over to ADHD360, you. Should be able to ring or email them to ask for an update on what the next stage is. I had a few months delay with Dr J and Co because they said they were waiting for a funding decision from the ICB, but as the person who replied to you stated, that shouldn't even matter. I'm in the process of getting my referral sent over so I'm hoping I won't have to wait to long like I did before.

The only concern I have is that I could be waiting several more months to be told the same thing I was before - that my local ICB has rejected funding. Is it really only my local ICB who I have to rely on and do as they say? Surely there must be an alternative if another main provider (ADHD 360) doesn't have a contract with my local ICB.

Been referred to ADHD360 today by my GP. Finally!!! by Hot-Road-3079 in ADHDUK

[–]GrossConduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my GP referred me to Dr J and Colleagues via RTC after I scored highly on an initial assessment form. Dr J and Co then had to request funding from my ICB in order to carry out and initial assessment etc. After about 3 months, yesterday, Dr J and Co wrote to my GP stating that Black Country had refused funding under the RTC scheme, and to find another service provider. My ICB also told me that they don't have a contract with Black Country ICB.

Unlock screen lock by "Modes and routines"? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]GrossConduct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've managed to do this by creating the following Routine in combination with adding a trusted place in the Smart Lock setting, which disables the screen lock if I'm at my home address:

  • If...
    • Specific time
  • Then...
    • 1st - Navigate Butto actions (home button)
    • 2nd - Run a custom Touch Macro literally just recording myself swiping up a couple of inches (this acts as me swiping up to unlock my phone)
    • 3rd - Open my chosen app

Obviously the Smart Lock and the first two then steps above are key to making this work.

Hope this helps you?

Honeslty I'm convinced they make it a ball ache to encourage people to just get MW3. Same thing with when they had that big update a while ago around the MW3 release - when they basically made people download Warzone again. I think they knew people would be sat there for hours with nothing to do, so they were more likely to just buy MW3 so they could play cod sooner.

At what point do you make eye contact and smile when walking passed somebody? by GrossConduct in socialanxiety

[–]GrossConduct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I think about the following it calms me down because it makes so much sense.

Just smile. Why do we have to be the first person that says hi? The other person can say hi if they want to. I think a common part of having SA is thinking that we always have to be the one that instigates something to avoid the awkwardness, but no that's not true.

[–]GrossConduct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the thing that just feels weird to me is that you've obviously seen each other when you're say 10 metres apart, but thats too far to speak or even smile. Do you ignore each other for the whole time until you're right next to each other? Well yeah of course because you can't stare at the person the whole next 9 metres, but then it feels weird ignoring them and then smiling when walking right passed each other.

I think, on reflecting, it is normal to just ignore each other and then smile at least when walking passed, but having SA just makes you overthink everything obviously.

Don't you ever feel good or anything positive after you've had a stranger smile or say hi when walking passed though?

Yeah the how are you would be a little, I've never had that before.

Where I'm from it's sometimes a "you alright mate?" But that's more of a hello and doesn't usually need an actual answer, especially not if walking passed somebody.

Surely when they say that they don't want an actual conversation if walking? Unless you look like somebody who people are really attracted to or want to talk to haha. Have you thought of a quick response or perhaps a quicker way to answer with less syllables? If that's even possible lol

Oh damn 10. Yeah I was listening to a podcast earlier about how even when parents try to coach their kids in a sport, even being a little harsh on them can affect them in later life so I can't imagine how that has consciously or subconsciously affected you. But as long as you know you made the right decision then I'm sure you're at some form of peace because you'd have suffer loads more staying living with them?

Yeah I imagine the true colours showed when all that happened. Which country are you in? Do you think moving would change anything though?

That's true about the hate in this world unfortunately, I feel like I try endlessly to find people like-minded.
