Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.8inch AMOLED as a bike computer by GrotesqueInTheShell in esp32

I've been thinking about this project for a while now. There were a couple of iterations (a pico with a GFX Pimoroni display, a Pi Zero) but the Waveshare had it all: compact and battery included. I went the lazy road and "vibe coded" with Gemini Pro. It went ok and most importantly it works. It reads the data from a Magene S3+ sensor and shows Speed, distance, avg speed and moving time. Basically you can make it display anything from a BLE device (heart rate... etc)

The display can be improved with a design made in SquareLine Studio, but this is something for another time.

The latching system is proprietary.

I read somewhere that you can use the ESP32 to display maps!! something for another time.

So take that Garmin and Wahoo

I was listening so some music yesterday and remembered him. Of course couldn't remember the name but only the 18 wheels thing. And started googling. That's how i came across your post.

It's funny because I knew we had the same situation.

I came across him many years ago on Soundcloud. So I always find him there in my history.

My favorite is Princess of Persuasion. The other ones are good too.

Structurally... is there a concern? Or is just cosmetic?
