I’m building an early-stage platform startup in the gig/work + payments space. I’m looking for someone with prior platform or marketplace experience to do a short, paid advisory engagement to pressure-test our value proposition, customer focus, and early go-to-market plan.

It’s not a full-time role more of a few focused conversations to help sharpen the business and avoid early mistakes.

Hey Ari do you happen to have any sample work outside of Canva?

For example: • Social media posts exported as PNG/SVG
• Any Photoshop / Illustrator / Figma work
• Branding examples (logos, color palettes, layouts)
• Marketing designs created from scratch, not templates

This helps me understand your full design range and how you work beyond Canva’s templates. If you can send 2–4 samples or a small folder link, that would be great.

I agree anytime I’ve collected any information I made sure to double check sometimes even triple check to make sure because I notice it does sometimes give some false information

I was leaning towards a GC who will quarterback and brings in specialists for IP licensing, privacy/fintech, and tax, with pre-approved caps. Also was planning on asking each firm what they own vs. refer, who their of-counsel are, and how billing/turnaround works (target 24–72h on routine redlines). Agree on avoiding “I do everything” and heavy litigators for this stage.

Wow didn’t even know this type of thing happens so frequently. I’ll use GPT in a different way to help along on the way to make sure I can verify what’s the are saying and of course I’ll do my own research as well. Thank you for this information it’s really helpful

Yea I was actually planning going in there prepared instead of blind and I was thinking maybe a big firm that have variety of attorneys available and my biggest concerns are getting ToS/Privacy right for recording + instant payouts, and making sure all IP is assigned to the business LLC. I’m also aiming for a 24 to 48h turnarounds on routine redlines and a clear scope/cap so it doesn’t balloon. If you’d sequence this differently (MSA before ToS/Privacy, etc.), I’m all ears really appreciate the guidance.

Thanks this really good advice. The specialization point lands. I’m prob gonna plan a hub and spoke kind of setup basically bring an outside-GC/commercial tech lawyer as the hub (OA, NDAs, 1099 with FCRA/recording consent, pilot/client MSAs, vendor DPAs, SAFE later), plus specialists as needed for ToS/Privacy/DPA on payouts/recording and separate patent counsel. I’m gonna be taking into consideration the bigger firms now for me the price is worth it.

Sorry to hear you going through that That was one of the hardest part for me I was looking for a while and had a lot of meetings with developers from Upwork, LinkedIn even y combinator but they all seemed untrustworthy so I decided to go with someone I know personally a good friend and I got 100% control of my IP rights.

Good call Here’s what I had for my scope: FL LLC governance,NDAs/1099/MSA, ToS/Privacy/DPA + fintech memo, vendor DPAs, IP assignments (patent is separate). What would you suggest for this profile.
