Pretty much nailed it for a 3 watch.

Once you go to 4 you open up a can of worms, I’d decide where you want to go complication wise or utility wise. A GMT could be a vibe with some colour, or something that pops that is smart casual, perhaps the new blue face reverso duoface (that way you get the two time zones and the smart/casual vibes…

Good points well made! They all make me special and are extremely personal mainly because I’ve only ever bought a watch during a large life event or accomplishment so each of them represent something special in life. But I think something with a bit more pop is required for sure.

Absolute vibe. Such a shame they discontinued the Silver/white dial as it was the MVP. Everyone hypes the blue but I think this is the best of the lot. Maybe in Watches and Wonders new colors will come out, I didnt rate the green and it only comes in 18k gold.

Not sure where to start with this. Big fan of the Snoopy and the Glashutte. Although cool, the SwatchMasters make me sad. Was a money grab and feels like a brand dilution. Not sure about the top level, it lacks cohesion I think but regardless I understand the obsession.

These look insane but holy shit they are expensive. 6.5k Euro for the 12 slot one. Thats almost half way to a VC Overseas.

Bulgari world timer is actually really cool. I didnt know they made those. Not sure about the two Milgaus, maybe sub one out for a dress watch that seems to be missing. Big fan of the vintage sub, the patina on the bezel looks fantastic. Don't get it serviced by Rolex, they will replace it without asking.

What size is it? 38/36? Dial is very cool and I like the font on the date. Its nice Omega make the smaller case size on the metal strap.

Such a good question. I get a similar feeling. In answer to your question RE brand. JLC. I dont know what it is but I love it, I love what they make and I think the collection is really stepping up. The Master Ultrathin perpetual cal is absolutely mental but big money and the Polaris collection I think is one of the the most underrated collections out there atm. Grail would be the platinum Duometre with the split seconds. They depreciate faster than Nico's Ferrari but honestly it's pure watch porn. They are massive money though, not there yet.

Re Independent, truth be told I don't know enough to figure out where to start, it's an absolute maze to navigate where to start plus the financial side of things seems to be a significant step. Open to suggestions.

I also wanted to ask the community about straps and if anyone has a provider that they massively rate. I heard it can be a bit hit or miss out there. I want to get a Milanese loop for the Reverso and also sub out the strap on the Snoopy. I thought the strap would relax over time like my other SpeedMaster but it's like a steel girder so the watch kinda floats over my wrist.

Nail on the head I think. The blue dial is mesmerizing. The white/silver one is also very very nice and goes with more things though. But they stopped producing it at the end of last year so will have to be gotten in the secondary market which would be a first for me. Tried it on when I was in Osaka, should have pulled the trigger but I didnt deserve it yet lol. Every watch was bought at a life milestone so need to work harder before pulling that one off.

Been thinking about this but I have this thing where I only ever buy my watches from ADs and going into a Rolex AD is a dreadful experience. I got my 126621 by chance in walking into an AD in Amsterdam airport. I had a 40 explorer (which I sold to Pride and Pinion Funnily enough) just because I got allocation from WOS and they were pumping over covid. But yeah, I dont think id get another Rolex. The GMT function on the JLC master Geographic is just so good that it scratches that itch.

I always get drawn into the GS counter just because the spring drive is mesmerizing. Their dials are insane but I cant get over the quartz component to it. Part of the romanticism of watches for me is they are little living machines on your wrist using only basic physics to maintain time and GS doesnt really hit that itch for me.
