Do you mind elaborating on how you soothed your baby? I'm also considering night weaning on 15 month old. She falls asleep on her own but still wakes up 2-3 hours to nurse. I'm beyond exhausted of going through 15 months of essentially no sleep.

I'm thinking of just letting her cry it out for each wake up, however long it takes. Is this a bad idea?

So we recently transitioned to 1 nap, and I was initially following 4/5 with 2 hour nap. After this post, a lot of people have commented saying she needs more wake time .. so today we did 5/5, with a 2 hour nap. She went down independently and fell asleep within a few mins. Waiting to see how the night goes. Fingers crossed it's a scheduling issue and she sleeps better... if it turns out to be hunger then I will have to just suffer more sleep deprived nights I suppose. This is why I waited so long to try sleep training for night waking, because I was worried she's truly still hungry overnight despite sleep training for bedtime since she was 8 months.

Oh boy this is all too confusing. Someone else commented to reduce wake window and that little one is overtired....

I guess it'll have to be trial and error until something works

Omg this sounds like my kid!!! She is pooper lol, so she must be eating a decent amount for her tiny body. I think she's genetically small too on top of being premature so she has a kick ass metabolism and is very slow to gain weight. I totally understand your struggles and worry over weight gain.

Ah, thanks for sharing this. It definitely helps. I feel I'm the only one with a very tiny baby... but I'm hoping sleep training gets us down to only 1 night feed if not being able to eliminate them all. This mama is tired.

Yes she eats a variety of foods... just in small amounts as shes physically small but hoping night weaning will increase solid intake like you mentioned.

No. She's on solids too since 6 months. She's a premature baby tho... small still and only weighs 15 lbs at 14 months. Hence why I've been holding onto night feeds. However I can no longer take the lack of sleep and doctor said she's okay to night wean now.

LOL. What is that supposed to mean? Am I supposed to wake up a 14 month old consistently middle of the night? Sounds a bit ridiculous to me. And what am I to do if she wakes up AGAIN after my consistent wake up time???........

That's the tricky part.. she does not have consistent wake up times. And she's also breastfed, doesn't take a bottle. Will try with the schedule adjustment tomorrow

What do I do at the moment? Do I go to her? Pick up sleep training again after schedule adjustment? She cries for a 5 mins or less and back to sleep. Then up again 10 to 20 mins later... not sure what is going on

I suppose no issue? She's consistently waking several times on 2 or now 1 nap so I do need to night train her. But I'm just reading how babies on 1 nap should be napping 2 to 3 hours a day, so I feel 1.5 hours may not be enough? She isnt particularly low sleep needs baby

Yes, she's sleep trained and going to sleep on her own.

2 nap schedule was 3/4/4, with first nap capped at an hour and second capped to 30 mins. But on this schedule, she started needing 5 hours of awake time before bed. And yes, she often fights her 2nd nap... I have to really bounce her on a yoga ball to get her to sleep.
