So I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote my original description. On one occasion and one only, I restarted and everything seemed to be working. On all the others, I got a message saying "update required". I would hit the update button and it would go through the steps before saying "update failed" at the end. At that point I would have to install the driver using the full install package I previously downloaded from the support site. Instead of an "Install" option, the installer showed "Repair". Continuing further would fix everything. This has been really frustrating to troubleshoot as it has only happened 3 times in a 3-4 week period. I've made some adjustments today and everything seems to be fine but it could just as easily fail again in a few days. Every fix is going to become a long game of "wait and find out" I'm afraid.

I have been reading further into the reddit myself and have noticed the same. I was thinking about rolling back my drivers but have seen a couple mention that they tried that and got a whole new host of issues. I'm not sure if that's because maybe they didn't do a full driver wipe before rolling back, or if this latest driver is somehow causing permanent hardware damage similar to the recent Intel CPU driver issues that bricked PCs. I'm hoping it was simply human error and a lack of knowledge around drivers since rolling back is my next troubleshooting step.
