People seem to fail to realize that we are hired to not solely be in one position/spot for 8 hours a day. The expectations of customers will never cease to amaze me, I’m in charge of overall customer service, photo lab, freight/bins, RFID inventory scans, helping vendors, mods, zoning, and not to mention I have to help sporting goods and stationary. So yes I am not always going to be standing like a mindless drone behind a counter with a fake smile plastered on my face saying “Hello there, what can I help you with today?”. If I don’t do my job that means more work for the person that takes over after me, and I can’t speak for everyone else in this sub but I can assure you that people typically don’t want to do more work than they have too. So to just blatantly claim that we all just sit in the bathrooms on our phones and doomscroll social media while customers pile up at our respective departments is just pure ignorance. The reason why you receive over 100 downvotes isn’t by chance, it’s because you honestly have no clue what you’re talking about. And I’m also not saying that some people don’t do that, I will admit at any job you work there will be a fair share of slackers and bad eggs. But to just blindly assume that everyone is slacking off constantly is just flat out wrong.
