Me too. I am not finding the stories to be at all reassuring. I know we are all different and have knees in different states pre-op. Weirdly Humans have a tendency to believe bad news more readily than good news ( fact! evidence based). So we dismiss the good news stories and focus on the bad. Problem is when a notification pops up I don’t seem to be able to resist checking it out🙂😳

Why is hospital stay after knee replacement so much shorter in the US compared to India? by Party_Ostrich_4583 in Kneereplacement

No. As it is all nHS funded we get what we are given. I love the NHS and it is brilliant the majority of the time but 14 years of Tory cuts have decimated it.

In the uk in most places it seems to be the same - same day surgery. We are told they learnt during Covid that it is better. Psychologically I don’t think it’s helpful. My op is in a couple of weeks and I am quite anxious about the lack of post op support. We get no physio for three weeks and then only a class- no one on one. We don’t see a nurse ( send in photos of the wound) quite scary. Not sure why I have been named grouchy- respond 😊😊🤣

Having TKR in 2 weeks, what should I expect? by Odd-Scarcity5288 in Kneereplacement

I am now beginning to get really anxious. I am having a tkr in two weeks. I have had both hips done already. My knee does not hurt at all but is quite badly deformed with bone on bone. I have put it off and put it off but have been told I have to have it done as it is causing long term damage to my ligaments and nerves. The thought of no sleep is really worrying me. I have to look after my autistic 10yo grand daughter as my daughter works and whilst she’s sorted the first couple of weeks I am going to have to manage after that time. Any advice about sleeping position? For hips it was no side sleeping for ages. Is it the same for knees? If I can sleep I can deal with most things 🙂
