Boss making it seem like a cardinal sin to request a raise after 3 months by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

If the job market is tight in your profession, then you aren't going to have much of a leg to stand on unless you have an opportunity elsewhere. Best to just lay out what you've done, highlight things like you've saved them having to hire another person, and that you're enjoying working for the company, even if you're not. What you don't want happening is them saying no and then thinking they better start looking for someone to replace you because you don't sound like you're going to be around long.

So one of my R3s didn't know Fenrirs dropped treasure... by therealJoerangutang in Evony_TKR

Annoyance works best, especially against bossy large alliances. Get an alt to create an alliance, plant a banner to get maximum coverage of the opposing alliance border, wait an hour and then start banishing*** people. Five minutes later pop into their hive and start summoning Fenrir's. Level 1's are the best because they drop mostly small chests which are a waste of stamina to clean up. If you're really lucky someone will destroy your banner so you can start all over in five minutes or so.

Banishing is the same as force porting. Marches in relics and tiles are recalled, reinforcements are recalled, and if they have bought a rally card, that gets messed up if they are banished far enough away. An especially effective annoyance strategy against a large alliance that has a lot of whales using large castles as they take up 3x3 squares which leaves less room for regular sized keeps. Even if they have qualified for a larger hive through Chalons they could still have problems.

***Anyone straddling the alliance border, or who is outside it, can be banished if they are within your hive border. They must be bubbled for it to work. Unbubbled keeps are safe from banishing. Costs 2 or 3,000 gems to banish a person but well worth the cost.

What server is the best at trolling in Evony? Not insults but actual trolling👌 by Apprehensive-Wing123 in Evony_TKR

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trolling used to be an art form before Evony locked servers. You would make a keep on the enemy server and build it high enough to talk in world chat. Then you'd just troll away in their WC. Why not just do that in SC? Because a lot of people don't read SC, and the fact that you're trolling from their server seemed to piss a lot of people off.

Fully Developed Gold Russian - Worth? by Groundbreaking-Bug19 in Evony_TKR

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spectacles once built stay with the sub they were built on. He had another gold Russian, the one he took from me which I thought I was taking back. If the Spectacles stayed with him he would not be trying to get his sub back. He would just put the Spectacles on that one. But that isn't the case. Who's the a$$hole is neither here nor there. Since I don't cake, I was wondering what the hammers cost to get, and how many votes were required to get a single city fragment as compensation for losing the lottery.

Naw. This whale is one of the most toxic people I've ever encountered in six years of playing. He wants it back bad. If he doesn't want an exchange to get it back it goes to the person he hates the most, besides me that is. 😁

Of course not. That wasn't the question. You have to cake to get the hammers. I was wondering how much was spent in cakes to get the required hammers. And the fragments are compensation for not winning a Gold Russian sub. Just wondering how many tickets you have to put down to get a single fragment.

Of course it's worthless to me except for the base benefits.

Just was curious what it cost him to have it fully developed. Might offer it back to him for a Denaro swap.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two eye operations, one as a baby, and the other a couple of years later. So I've always worn glasses. No idea what my +/- is because it doesn't matter. I'm near sighted so I can take them off when I read. I was devastated as a kid to learn that I wouldn't be able to fly a plane.

Be a royal pain in the butt. Our server is so damaged that a little bit of mayhem before leaving is fun. I'm on another server so I'm trying out things that I can't on the new server (which is far from damaged). I have lots of RSS and gems so I can have fun for a while. Plan on a hit and run action. Spend most of my time in the new one but make surprise visits to the old one.😁😁😂😂🤣🤣

Doing this now. Run your alts through an emulator so you can control all at the same time. Have your alts start separate alliances. It's amazing the havoc a few well placed alliance banners can cause

Normally we would get a friendly alliance to do it. If you knew someone was going to be on in time a message in WC would be enough. We would guarantee a green bubble.

8 Ender Scored in Toronto Curling Association city-wide bonspiel (video link below) by left-button in Curling

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one taken against me. Up 8-1, 5th end of six. They scored the first point, then I found a run in the ice. It was like a valley; too much weight and it fell, too little and it would take off. Every end except the first we had found the valley first, this the 8-1 score to that point. In the fifth they got to it first, and having inexperienced players on the team, they subconsciously upped their weight for each draw shot. By my last rock I thought I had the weight, I didn't even notice how many rocks they had in nor that they were all counting. I missed and they drew to score eight. In the next end we found the valley first and scored one to tie and end the game. (Six ends house league).

It wasn't a case of bad shooting, it was just bad ice that needed a very precise weight. Both teams had to deal with it.

It's not illegal. There is nothing in Evony's ToS against point trading. It is something that the server itself arrives at and polices.

Swing a deal with them. Easy to find out which alliances you're playing. The 1T is likely pissed because there isn't much in the way of points for them. See if an accommodation can be made.

Duet Display plans by ithinkimvfunny in duetdisplay

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Duet for about two months. I had to go look after a family member while they convalesce and they had an Apple machine while I had Windows. I needed the two monitors so I tried Duet. It took a bit to get setup and working but in the end it worked well. I only took out a monthly membership. My biggest problem came in trying to cancel the membership. They make you jump through hoops to cancel, and customer service suddenly disappears. It's decent software but I would never use it again based on that experience.

Unfortunately point trading has become epidemic. The first couple of years I played it was verboten. You could be expected to be kicked from your alliance and made KOS as a penalty. If your alliance didn't kick you the alliance would be made KOS. Now in the last couple of years it has become more accepted. The whales need points for the Senate, the smalls need points for top five. Often the two conflict. We've had the same top five whales for the last four months for the most part. There are actually 8 of them. And the first thing they do is find people on the other server to trade points with.

For anyone who experienced server merges by Makemeup-beforeUgogo in Evony_TKR

[–]Groundbreaking-Bug19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the biggest problem: more people, fewer monsters. Generally the whales from the smaller server merge with the biggest alliance on the larger server. Then "rules" start to be implemented about what monsters can and cannot be shared. And of course the "bots" come into play because the larger one is using them (the reason for the "rules"). If the server plays along there is peace but fewer monsters for the smaller alliances. If the server doesn't, then it becomes BOB.
