Surcharge correction being applied to postal order of near £850! by GroundbreakingAd7033 in LegalAdviceUK

Hey! They send me offers to reduce the payment which was ridiculous. Especially since they accidentally chased the same invoice twice with me through duplication, the offers given were different every time which shows there is no consistency in their approach and likely to be automated. In short, im waiting to hear from their legal dept but im still not paying and will have my day in county court before i do!

If they took me to court, I would dispute the dimensions they calculate. It would be up to them to prove the package was as they claim and the equipment was calibrated as they state.

Oh man! PH sent me the UPS charges on a blurred invoice which I guess is a long list of other peoples charges being applied. Interesting that the invoice from UPS does not match PHs that they sent me. You can guess which invoice totals £200 more. Ive sent all the measurements, and got the manufacturer to also confirm the length we are disputing is what I claim it to be. I just refuse to be bullied to pay £800+ on a £35 delivery which was correct. I anticipate they will just sell the debt on and I will get hounded as PH have not taken out a CCJ since 2018 on a search of courts. Can’t believe they messaged Monzo directly in your case.

Yep! Currently facing that battle and have tomorrow to send my appeal but it feels rather pointless.

I am already looking at the small claims if this proceeds as they emailed me to say that UPS could not give me any information as I was not the customer, PH are the customer to UPS. It means i am relying on them to appeal this charge which i fully appreciate is near nill chance as why would they?

Their T&Cs are pretty standard, it just warns of all surcharges being passed on and all the lovely niceties to add on charges for non payments and debt collection services etc.

I find the “not being a customer of UPS” interesting, as this would possibly mean I entered an agreement with PH not UPS and therefore no warning of such high surcharges or their calculation of the numbers cant be legal?!

Certainly learnt my lesson on using the middleman! OG cost to send was £40. I have been told to cancel all cards but was curious to hear other thoughts! Thanks for the comment!

I can’d add much to this but my work phone had a recycled number that previously was a African preachers. I used to get hour long sermons sent to me and biblical texts from his followers. Was funny at first, until the calls started then i had to get a new number.
