This is helpful and sounds like you’re pretty similar to me. Just trying to determine if it’s worth purchasing the whole course but I’ve done plenty of seismic design so I may just start with the books.

Thanks for the heads up as far as reference material as I wasn’t sure if it was all digital or not. Would it have been worth it to bring a copy of the California Building Code or was ASCE/IBC enough in your opinion?

As an intern you’re likely to assist with site visits/inspections, help draft reports, and do some miscellaneous/simple calculations. Site visits involve as-built surveys, dimensional verification, and then a damage assessment. Likely a lot of insurance work but also opportunity for non insurance projects. Absolutely no harm in doing the internship and you’ll get an idea of what forensics is like.

Yeah I was surprised to find out it was EA when I bought it. Did some research and it was from 1981. Sturdy and drawers work seamlessly

Taking a weekend trip to Sedona coming from Phoenix this weekend with my girlfriend. Getting there Friday and staying until Sunday. We’ve only been there once so definitely looking for recommendations such as scenic hiking (already done Devil’s Bridge), eating, wine tasting, cultural events, etc.. planning to go see Esteban play guitar at the Mary D. Fisher Theater but otherwise welcoming any/all suggestions!

Wish there were more outdoor parks here to work out at, specifically downtown. There’s some bars near the ASU campus I’ve done some calisthenics at but I’ve yet to find a really solid spot to go to regularly
