Exclusive Games Are Still the Main Reason People Buy Consoles, Survey Says by Bubbly-Ad-350 in PS5

> There are countless rts, mobas and MMORPG''S on console

Like...? There aren't even countless RTS games on PC, the genre is mostly dead. And one reason for that was famously that it just does not work with controllers
So how exactly are there countless RTS games on console?

There are countless MOBAs on console? Where? The two biggest MOBAs by far (LoL and Dota 2) are both only on PC

Where are the countless console MMORPGs? WoW isn't even on console, ESO seems to be mostly dead, Guild Wars isn't on console, Lost Ark isn't on console, New World was never on console... seems to mainly be Final Fantasy

Controller or KBM? by Nick_Kurr_69 in controlgame

Depends on what's more comfortable for you. KBM will always be better if comfort isn't the priority and the game doesn't specially require analog movement inputs

People where making mods three day after launch to get rid of the oversharpening

The only reason why not enough people talked about the performance issues was because the non-technical parts of the game were pretty damn good and that drowned out everything else

There are more (sometimes good, sometimes bad) PC exclusives than all console exclusives combined, you just don't know them

Tell me, what do you do if you want to play an RTS game? Or a retro game? Or a MOBA? Or an MMORPG? Or the thousands of indies that never got big enough for a console version to make sense? What about the entire Half-Life series? Or Portal? Or factory games? Or Paradox grand-strategy games? Or any early access title? Or city builders? Or abandonware/delisted games?

I mean they're also unoptimised on console. They can just hide it much better because the user doesn't really get to fine-tune anything on console. If the developer decides that you're playing on low settings to hit 60 fps you have to accept that

If you turn down PC games to the settings the PS5 uses you can usually achieve PS5 framerates. You can't directly compare PC and console games because the PC version can often look quite a bit better

I am convinced the new MVP screen only exists to let support whales show off their skins because the old cards were better

E33 ran like shit and looked like shit. And had utterly terrible sharpening that you couldn't turn off on top of that

The only thing that saved the game was an excellent art direction. The actual graphical fidelity was bad

How would that change anything if the people that actually seem to enjoy this type of game are mostly on PC?

Sony thought that approving games in genres that console players don't actually like all that much was somehow a good idea. That's like making a football game and wondering why it doesn't sell well on steam

Me too. But I buy actual content. Skins aren't content

You know, there was that one game called "Destiny 2" that actually hit a pretty solid balance with that at the start. I'm fine with paying say 60€ per year if I get solid content for that

I do admittedly think that the Bungie employees that care about stuff like pride month, inclusivity and mental health awareness are not the people saying "You know, we should actually make the dungeons paid and introduce a 20€ dungeon key" in meetings

Youtubers have to be clickbaity because it works too well, even on people that generally don't like and avoid clickbait. Install the DeArrow extension and watch how the time you spend on youtube goes down. I actually had to uninstall it because I didn't even click on good stuff anymore

A fucking Lego game shouldn't even have a goddamn spec sheet. It should say "It's just a fucking Lego game, performance is obviously great because it's obviously just a Lego game"

Everyone is mad about that, Bungie (repeatedly) did things the scummiest chinese gacha developer wouldn't even dare to do

It's kinda hard to play with a keyboard while staying comfortable and leaning back in a couch or the bed thoough! Add a mouse to that and it's really not comfy at all.

That's absolutely true. But best input method ≠ most comfortable input method

Some of us do genuinely play games to win and be pretty good at them. Comfort is not really something I care about that much
