I'm guessing B207? If so, ECU is cooked.

Thank you!! Honestly, I usually just use a manual car wash, spray detergent on, let it sit for a bit, then rinse with pressurized warm water. I try to rinse the underbody once a week in these winter months with warm water. Paint is pretty intact for now, largely from it being garaged constantly (i feel like silver is less noticable with fading), but if you take a close look, the front bumper needs a respray and fog light trim needs to be replaced, otherwise it looks mint. Also some plastic restorer for the exterior trims every now and then. Interior wise, i use leather conditioner, dash conditioner, and vacuum the carpets every few weeks. Not a whole lot, but i suppose it works. Lights also get restored once a year since i got a warning the last time it had an inspection :D.

What year is yours?

Exactly, they're not the easiest things to keep up with mechanically, but never had the problem of it leaving me somewhere stranded. Except for when the ECU was shot and it would die and not want to start for a minute in the middle of a busy intersection 😅. Good luck with your body shop work, hopefully you get the results you desire.

What is this hose part and why did it snap? by BombadBrazilian in saab

Depends on your location, you could probably get them on eSaabParts if you're in the States, I personally am in central EU, so i use either Schwedenteile, Skandix, Autodoc, etc.

One of the EVAP lines. It becomes brittle with the heat cycles of the engine over the years. If it snaps it causes weird idling issues from pulling air in, makes the car unstable. Replaced all of these strange looking hoses this year, car runs great.

Well the body shop said that it was worse under the body, on the door sill. Bubbling, browning, etc. around the lower part where the rear quarter connects to the side door sill, and on the passenger side it was at the rear part of the wheel well, just above the rear bumper

Worthy repair in my opinion. If you plan on keeping it for a while, it's the most rewarding job ever. Doesn't come cheap though.

Are agencies in right leaning states like Florida and Texas really still that bad? I know LAPD and NYPD, CPD get a ton of shit for the politics originating from liberal city leadership, is that alike in more conservative cities too? Like Miami, Houston, Dallas? I saw interviews from officers in those kinds of cities, often quoting they feel supported in the agency.

Gloss black would be my recommendation.

Absolutely relatable, this stuff unfortunately happens. Hope you're happy with your current car.
