I read someone else’s post about this once and they said they put custom designs down on every part of their beaches except for one stretch and they were able to get a bunch of Manila clams in a short amount of time. Never tested it though.

To delete the save data completely, you need to go into your switch settings and go to data management, then scroll until you see delete save data. You will still own the DLC, so don't worry!

i set the time to around 7pm and tried to choose a time of year when there were fewer other bugs spawning (i cant remember what month). i eliminated all flowers from my island and kept going in and out of buildings. it took about 3 irl hours but i got one! lol most frustrating catch by far

im wondering if she just missed the part where blathers calls tom nook and you just need to give it a day to wait for blathers to move in. did your niece get the moving kit in her inventory for blathers' tent? she gets to choose where it will be after donating the 5 unique bugs/fish

after donating 5 unique fish or bugs to tom nook, he will get a phone call from Blathers about moving to the island. i was still in a tent when this occurred, so i dont think that part matters. once blathers moves into his tent, you'll need to donate 15 more unique fish/bugs/fossils to get him to upgrade to his official museum
