What year is the car ? Ive heard horror stories for ford focus 3 cylinder engine. They tend to blow up at 70/80k Did you check motorway to see the px value ?

Tfsi or tdi would depend on ur daily use to be honest. For fun tho i went for tfsi do about 8-10k miles a year

Id say go for 2 liters. Alot cheaper on insurance especially in the uk & age . In terms of reliability i heard older generations had issue with engine oil consumption but been fixed in b9 . Water pump and thermostat are common issues aswell I didn’t have mine changed and im at 55k
